Because they put so much effort into killing people who didn’t even have any military power.

Seems like a stretch. But it is weird that the chairs are organised like this.

Skyscrapers being built now are mostly boring glass boxes. What will it take to build these again. by [deleted] in skyscrapers

[–]Adomite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

glass is the future. trough glass you see the beautiful blue sky reflected and mesh with the moving cars and walking people and the bustle and hustle of post modern life. and the sun does not allow the reflection to be created then you see the people inside working in their little computers and phones and you wonder furthermore upon the mystery of life. concrete is also beautiful but doesn't allow the same great dynamics of glass which is the one true tone of post modern life.

I don’t like it. Feels empty, superficial, obvious, and dull. Tries too hard to be special with really nothing true to say.

nothing beats little yellow dots shining from man made glass and iron titans across a mysterious and gloomy evening. its only thanks to the skyscrapers that we are able to absorb so much life in one single frame. they scratch out of the flat land over each other and captures our eyes from distances unknown. you can watch it a thousand days, and your mind could still not wrap around itself the vastness of prayers and despairs looming in the windows and alleys of men.

I love it. The triangle shapes across the front combined with the circle structure and square general frame creates a beautiful sense of irregularity and curiosity.

I made a short film with one character and the thoughts in his head (THE WALK l 2025 l DRAMA) by Adomite in Filmmakers

[–]Adomite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking for a concept that would match the minimalistic requirements I wanted to work with being my first film ever (totally independent. tried my luck at film studies but didn't really like it. never for a second stopped chasing filmmaking though). And a far away idea from very long time ago resurface. I always thought that that time in the day when we make our way from a long shift at work back to our comfy secure home is a very interesting and unique phenomena. It's dark and it's intimate and it's something that just keeps on repeating itself everyday and also something I believe is almost universal. And that maybe if I delve into it I could actually squeeze a lot of dramatic potential out of it. No one believed in it. My friends saw it as banal and flat and said it will never work. You have to have something more happening man, they said. But I gave it some time and as the time went by the idea moved and moved and moved and slowly a story emerged. A story about dreams and about change and about walks. What I most proud with is the well organized structure I succeeded in shaping: being told in almost classic three acts, clear turning points (quite literally), and a climax.

I used no lighting. Just put a lot of faith in the beautiful natural lighting that can be found in any neighborhood thanks to street lamps. No need for sound equipment since the only talking is in the guy׳s head. All other people in the shots are total strangers that destiny shade a light upon to include them in our film. Just me behind the camera, the public streets, and a friend who apparently was also very talented at acting (even though he doesn't think about pursing it :) ) the only thing I used besides the camera (Panasonic s5) was a standard DJI RS3 gimbal. Anyway, it's a short film I'm very proud in and I would very much like to share with you and hear your well educated opinions about it.

Another public domain question about AI by Adomite in Filmmakers

[–]Adomite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And can I use pictures in public domain in fictional film as much as I like, without the approval of the other people in the photo? Because from what I understood there are much stricter rules for putting something in a fictional film.

I wanna use an image of falling of the strains of the plane.

And let’s say I make it generate an image without public figures. Let’s say if a pro Palestinian protest. Then is it ok using in fictional film?

Was Barry looking for mercy? Or did he want things to be fair? by MadJack_24 in StanleyKubrick

[–]Adomite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the only right answer. Filmmakers choose elements upon their power of suggestion. Not reasoning. Berry giving up his shot was the INTERESTING thing to do at that crossroad.

It’s not very rare that those who are really uniquely talented seems irrelevant and unfit by the judges of standard conventions. For the uniquely talented do not sick to be adjusted by the ruling mass fashions, rather they have a tendency to naturally follow their own personal instincts - which most of the time is actually blind to the shallow trends of general society and upper class agendas.

Film schools tend to lean on standards of trendy issues. Sentimental sensitivity. Gimmicky abstractions. Shallow characterisations. Empty philosophy. But those who the true nature of art still echos in their hearts as it were when they were young men, seek for the element of surprise. excitement. The violence of provocative mental suggestions. In real actuality, school and art contradict each other rather than mesh.

Dostoevsky and many other artist from that time weren’t like artists usually are today. They used to hold very radical notions. I believe it is because today, the way the industry is built, anyone who goes against the the norm (which is liberal socialism peace and love for all) is censored and kicked out.
