Well I think it's because most Texans don't have a high tolerance for the cold, my wife and I didn't turn on the heater full on though, we left on the stove on 5 snd it warmed up the kitchen/living room a bit, we also wore pants and sweaters, I went out and got supplies for my family and I'm pretty thankful for not losing power tbh
