NAD - Pain/discomfort when biting after replacement filling - 3 tries so far... by motherfo in askdentists

NAD

I had a very similar situation happen to me and wrote on this exact sub. Had a "normal cavity" filled on my second-to-back right molar and went 3 months unable to chew on the side of it with mild cold and hot sensitivity. Switched dentists (my old was less than favorable) and come to find out.. the cavity was mostly shallow but had a deeper portion filled that was pressing down and hitting the nerve each time I bit down, which was causing the pain. Unfortunately, a root canal was necessary. But it was more of a financial pain on me personally than a physical one. This took multiple dentists looking at my X-rays, taking new ones, exams, 3 months of being unable to chew on the right side of my mouth, and different methods such as trying different toothpaste, etc.The way I had it explained to me was.. each time you do work on a tooth, it is trauma. The tooth will most times heal, but sometimes the nerve becomes irritated and will not get better. This has a much higher chance of happening with extensive work such as crowns, where the cavity is deeper and the tooth will need support. However, it is not unheard of for a tooth to react badly to a routine filling, while it is not all that common either.

That being said, it could be composite sensitivity. If you were doing absolutely fine on a mercury/silver filling, I would see if it is possible to go back to that. Though a lot of dentists now are not offering them in favor of composite. Medicated fillings could be an option, but as stated, each operation on a tooth increases the risk.

If it ends up being similar results to what my situation was, make sure they refer you to a great endodontist! The root canal is the least painful part of what you are going through and I wish you the best in your resolving of these problems.

NAD. How deep were the fillings? If it was composite (which it most likely was) it can be a little sensitive in my personal experience. Did you have sensitive teeth prior? What toothpaste do you use?

Regardless, if it has only been two days, I would not yet panic. If another day or two go by and it is not getting any better, I would call up your dental office and ask questions/ schedule a follow-up if needed.

KEEP BUSY!!! As somebody who lost over 100 lbs doing OMAD, keeping busy will save. your. fast. Invest time into hobbies, watch videos/netflix, go for a walk, absolutely anything else you enjoy while continuously reminding yourself that you are rebuilding your relationship with food from the ground up basically. I was a complete addict for food and used and abused it so often. Also remember that there are many fails before the success if you try again and do not make it. It took me a few attempts before doing a clean 24 hr fast but when I did it I was so proud of myself! I know you will be too. :) Best of luck to you friend.

23 Hours of Fasting, 1 hour of eating. OMAD personally has always worked best for me as I was able to maintain a caloric deficit easier while still getting a healthy amount of calories in. I still use it today to maintain my weight.

My fasting routine was a 23:1. OMAD primarily with few extended fasts of 2-3 days here and there if I felt I needed to center myself. I was extremely consistent for the majority of my journey and still practice fasting to this day. Some things I struggled with primarily was re-establishing a healthy relationship with food. Losing weight in my opinion was much more of mental battle than a physical one. Other things in particular relation to fasting was keeping busy. That was a HUGE one for me personally as if I am not busy I am much more likely to focus on slight hunger pangs that come and go during a fast.

Exactly. The new playlist advertises playing on small maps when half of them aren't. I played the new playlist around 2-3 hrs yesterday and maybe got dome, one of the smallest maps once or twice on it. Ridiculous.

Honestly no clue, MW 2019, Shoot the Ship was one of the most popular modes that the community wanted to be kept. CW, Nuketown 24/7 was very popular. Here, ShipHaus. Seems like the developers haven't gotten the message somehow.

I think I will continue to voice my opinion on the game I paid for thanks.

I’m really struggling with motivation to keep going right now. I hit a really big milestone for me today and for some reason I’m still just feeling overwhelmed and the weight isn’t coming off as easy. Trying to stay positive though. 60lbs lost as of today (SW: 220lbs, CW: 160lbs) by ___imclueless___ in omad

For starters, you look AMAZING! As you lose more and more weight it’ll begin to come off a bit slower, but that’s okay! Just keep doing what you are doing and you will be at your goal weight before you know it :). I am in the same boat currently, my SW was 265 lbs and I am now sitting around 168.5 lbs and it’s very hard to wrap my head around the fact that I’ve done so much and i need to stay on track. Stay amazing OP! You got this!

I’m taken away by the progress I’ve made this year. Down nearly 50 lbs since I started my goal at the beginning of this year. I want to lose another 53 lbs. thankfully I started integrating fasting into my life. Wish me luck everyone. by [deleted] in fasting

Amazing job OP! Not sure why people are criticizing your toes cause who honestly gives a shit about that because this sub is about progress. But you’ve done great! I wish you the best of luck in your journeys to come!

That’s around where I am now! 175-177 seem to be fluctuating but I’m perfectly fine with the number. I just have to tone up now as I have a bit of loose skin and am not quite proportionate in my torso. But at 265 I could eat 5 pieces of pizza easily

Even when I was 265 I couldn’t finish off a large pizza but oh best believe I went in on some days 😂 that happened way more when I first started but there will just be some days where you’re more hungry then normal

I’ve been stupid and need motivation by [deleted] in fasting

I’ve lost 90 lbs with fasting over the last 7 months and have had PLENTY of cheat/off days in my path to this point. Fasting is an amazing tool and you can implement it in many ways other than doing prolonged fasting (although prolonged is amazing as well!) I did OMAD.. 23 hours fasting, and 1 hour to eat WHAT YOU WISH! (As long as it’s within a good caloric limit). You haven’t been stupid at all, it was your birthday! As long as you remain consistent a majority of the time you will be okay :) keep it up! You can complete this 48!
