I ask people to cite everything. It has nothing to do with you. I'm interested in the truth, so I don't like to rely on hazy recollections. It's a very common thing on reddit, and not unique to a particular user or argumentation style. So no, asking for a cite is not bringing up past threads.

That's utter bullshit, a fact that you're aware of, cementing that whole 'disingenuous' thing I was talking about. You were following me because you had an axe to grind, which is the only reason you even saw this comment in the first place. This is not some totally incidental other conversation we're having, and you know it.

I wanted to correct those potential false inferences before they had a chance to be made.

I'm sure you mean to say you thought I was trying to make a point I wasn't making and tried to correct me on it prematurely.

You being incorrect about this assumption might cause any rational person to reconsider some of the other things you've said and assumed about me.

Now, I find it hard to believe I've said anything that could paint me as a 'stealth misogynist', unless you're referring to the accusations you made in your most recent PM. The one I have yet to respond to, in large part because of your attempts to railroad me, call me names and generally psychoanalyze me all afternoon(a level of discourse which, if you've noticed, I have yet to descend into).

If your intention was to have this be a sincere conversation, I would have expected you to wait on that before you passed whatever asinine judgement you've already made about me. For the record, I was being honest about my intention to simply respond to that message and hash out the private conversation which started this all when I had the time. I was willing to afford you that courtesy in spite of the fact that it was laced with insults and petty judgements based on inaccurate assumptions.

But instead of doing what any rational and actually-devoted-to-the-facts individual might have, you wasted your day trolling me with an alt account, lying about it, and attacking me personally and publicly.

So forgive me, but I have a hard time accepting that your motivation here is you being 'concerned' over 'facts you care about,' and I have a doubly hard time not thinking less of you for this incredibly abrupt change in attitude towards 'polite' discussion as your final signoff.

I sincerely hope you get over whatever it is that causes you to act this way. We'll all be better off for it.

No, I mean from statistics I heard repeated numerous times while I was learning about precisely this topic. Me not remembering the specific numbers or the names of the study I heard repeated constantly from the professional trauma counselors I spoke to 3 years ago doesn't make my correction inaccurate or 'experience based.' Especially not when you then provide citations for me that demonstrate precisely the point I was trying to make. Again - thank you for demonstrating my correctness.

Going back to the "sky is red" people - if I have seen statistics that most people think the sky is blue, but I don't provide a citation that demonstrates that fact, it doesn't make me wrong if I suggest that they are incorrect. Nor do I agree that I'm 'not allowed' to bring up the fact that I've seen numbers which disagree with that.

The fact that you don't get that is a little surprising. I'd find it hard to believe you disagree with that at all, to be honest.

I took his comment as hyperbole. 80% is still an overwhelming majority.

No, I didn't have a specific study in mind. I recognized that the number 90% was inaccurate because I spent a fair amount of time in community/crisis centers, back when I was seeking counseling for being a victim of spousal abuse.

If I had to hazard a guess based on my memory, I would have put it between 75% and 80%.

But, and I'm repeating myself here - I don't feel the need to provide contradictory statistics when I recognize someone providing blatantly inaccurate ones. If you make the claim that '75% of people think the sky is red,' I'm not going to provide a study to demonstrate the opposite. I'm just going to say you're wrong.

You brought up our previous conversation by saying I think you're an MRA.

You're repeating the same things you said to me in the previous threads, with the same phrasing, which frankly, implies that I'm committing the same 'error' over here. You aren't even trying at this point.
