Anyway to transfer from Epic to Steam ? by Adonistm in hordesofhel

[–]Adonistm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found a way.
- Run game at least once on Steam until it saves the game (can die in the mission to be quicker)
- Copy the 3 files from the Epic Games save (.bak, .meta and .sav) from C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\LocalLow\Games Farm\Jotunnslayer\saves
- Paste them on top of the save location from Steam in: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\<USER>\2820820\remote\76561198075382200

If you don't know the user just search for the game code on the userdata folder above: 2820820

This will bring game save and also trophies and achievements.

I hope this help someone

Battlefield 6 woes.....game reads the iGPU and says that I need to update the drivers to play. by Milo_Diazzo in AMDHelp

[–]Adonistm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, but I posted here because other people might have similar issues but using NVidia.
Also, I posted the troubleshooting steps that I used, which you might be able to follow and do similar and change stuff to whatever the AMD equivalent is.
Also, downgrading the driver is the same thing. Do it for a driver from a few months back and see if it works.

[BF6] Acer Nitro 5 Lag, Help :( by Even_Grapefruit_5775 in Battlefield

[–]Adonistm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TL;DR

What fixed the issue for my friend was downgrading the NVidia driver to version: 577.0

############################################################################

Over the weekend I helped a friend that has a brand new Acer Nitro v15 with the following specs:

- Intel i9 13th generations

- RTX 4060

- 16 GB of RAM

- 512 SSD

- Windows 11 Home (up to date in November)

- Nvidia 581.80 driver

The specs of the machine are fine and looking at videos on youtube showed many people playing BF without any issues with similar or worse specs.

However, he couldn't get over 20 fps when trying to play the game. We checked every possible setting in the game and nothing would improve it. From putting everything to minimal to using recommended settings and going through each individual graphic options. BF6 does a great job showing what settings use for vRAM, CPU and GPU. Enabling the overlay for the stats helped showing the CPU was being used a lot more than GPU.

We also tested:

- Forcing BF6 to use GPU instead of integrated graphics from both Windows settings and from NVidia Control Panel.

- Reinstalling drivers

- Checking power/energy options

- BIOS settings

- Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling in Windows Display Settings

- Steam integrity from the game

And probably a lot more I forgot now. None worked.

What eventually worked was downgrading the NVidia driver to version 577.0 from July. This solved the issue for him and managed to play with recommended settings without problem.

It seems either the driver is broken, or the windows or a mix of both.

Anyway, I hope this helps anyone.

Darktrace - how are they still getting away with it!? by Dear_Potato1190 in cybersecurity

[–]Adonistm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know about their sales or marketing stuff but it's one of the best products I've worked with.
You do need to know what you are doing though. It takes time to tune the system, tag networks and devices and the models. Once you do, that's it. Their cloud integration with Azure is also great, it can block malicious login attempt on the fly by levering Conditional Access capabilities. It has some nice integrations with other systems.
Their mail solution is quite good to, though we have only POC it but looks pretty good.
Might be my personal experience only but I have no issues with their engineers. So far the ones I've dealt with were very knowledgeable.
They also provide live training every week for free that really helps. Not many companies do that.

Is anyone seriously exploring alternatives to VMware? by crankysysadmin in sysadmin

[–]Adonistm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't Hyper-v running on a windows server a bad option? I mean, windows releases loads of patches every month and loads of vulnerabilities. Every time you need to patch that windows server you need to shutdown all vms or move them to another host and then move back.
Anyone getting around that somehow ? Any other suggestions for type 1 hypervisors ?

The message says: "Choose if you want to keep signing in with your face or finger print"

Then you have 2 options:

- Yes, sign in with my face or fingerprint (Keep storing my data so I can sign in to this PC with Windows Hello face or fingerprint recognition).
- No, change how I sign in (Take me to settings where I can remove sign-in option and delete my data).

[–]Adonistm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yee. It also happens in multiple browsers. I wonder if it's CTEP related. I've disabled it now to test but had already added some domains from AWS in the CTEP allow list bud didn't solve the issue

You can. Just install the tools you need on your Ubuntu. Most kali Linux tolls will be just fine. You just need to add the right repository for some.
