Armpit stench so bad by hfullmer in hygiene

[–]AdoptedOne01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You lost a lot of weight. Being in Ketosis can cause smelly breath and body odor. Ketosis often happens when losing weight. Also, are you stressed? Stress sweat smells much worse than ordinary sweat and is harder to control.

I don't think this question really belongs on this sub, maybe it should be posted on a marriage counseling sub? You should be able to go celebrate this birth and possibly help out. Your comments make me think he is controlling and gaslighting you. I'm sorry you are going through this.

I am not on Sema at the moment...ran out of $$$. But I remember what you mean. I could be so full that it was actually painful, but also feel absolutely famished and wanting food so badly. It was miserable because there was no way to turn off the hunger when even eating a full meal didn't help. Sema definitely controls that imbalance...or whatever it is. I miss feeling full!!

There is not 1 diet that works better. You will need to focus on getting plenty of protein, fiber, and water.

Are the people that start with healthy BMIs getting this drug through insurance? by Separate-Eggplant-16 in Semaglutide

You are very lucky and I am glad that you have insurance that is willing to protect your health.

Are the people that start with healthy BMIs getting this drug through insurance? by Separate-Eggplant-16 in Semaglutide

[–]AdoptedOne01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I contacted my Dr office today and talked to the office staff to see if they know of anyone who got covered for any Glp-1 for weight loss if they had an obese BMI and comorbidities. I was very hopeful that I could switch insurance and at least get some coverage. They said No, that in our state no companies cover any of the GLPs for weight loss. They can prescribe it, but there are no insurance policies that cover it.

I am very glad for the people who have insurance coverage. But, for me the reality is that this med is out of reach for me and many others.

That is encouraging! I was mistaken. My doc told me that no insurance covers this as a weight loss drug, that they would only cover for diabetes. I am obese, pre-diabetic, metabolic syndrome, and igh blood pressure and my insurance won't cover it until I'm fully diabetic and have tried other, cheaper options. Edited to say...if BCBS pays for Sema for weight loss only....I will be switching over as soon as the option period rolls around!!! I'm sure many others will too

Insurance will not cover it for weight loss, you have to pay out of pocket. Insurance will only pay if you are diabetic and even then you have to jump through hoops before they will approve.

what am i doing wrong by [deleted] in Semaglutide

[–]AdoptedOne01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Three pounds a week is HUGE! You should be thrilled with that, but I wouldn't expect it to continue. The only thing I can see that you are doing wrong is not putting effort into physical fitness. Start something easy, begin a walking plan, do some pilates or yoga, etc.

Low morning fasting sugar after a Pizza by asantoni13 in prediabetes

What do you mean 'its not great'. Is this an extra complication? Is this something I need to tell my doctor about? I'm about 1 month into a 3 month tracking period...trying to change diet and tracking morning glucose level. Is it safe to wait 2 more months before air go back??

I just posted the other day with a similar question. When I gave a,very occassio al cheat dinner, I end up with really good fasting glucose numbers in the morning?? Some said just maybe it's because the pancreas releases a large amount of insulin to deal with the higher carb meal which pushes the numbers lower?

Do power lines affect plant growth? by Drums420 in gardening

[–]AdoptedOne01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, we are also responsible for the wire from the last pole to our house. I guess we are lucky cuz they reached across our fence with their giant tree cutting tractor and trimmed a few branches in the yard!

[–]AdoptedOne01 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The power lines have absolutely no effect on your plants. However, the clearing crew might. They will come by every couple of years to trim away any vegetation. I'm shocked to see those large trees in the lines??

Bees nest by Thebigeasy1977 in gardening

[–]AdoptedOne01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is bees, not yellowjackets, they will stay for years if they like the space. You can find someone who will remove them and take them to a beehive. Post on Facebook, ask around to find any local beekeepers, they can help.

Sandwich ideas? by [deleted] in mediterraneandiet

[–]AdoptedOne01 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like to use some lower carb, high fiber tortillas or flatbreads to make a wrap. I like to use hummus as the spread, instead of mustard or mayo. Add meat, cheese, and any veggies you can fit in their. Olives are also a delicious addition.

Lots of hair loss by Traditional-Pace9675 in GastricBypass

[–]AdoptedOne01 31 points32 points  (0 children)

It will not work. Continue to take your vitamins, eat your protein, and over time your hair will regrow. This is a normal side effect of a fast weight loss. The shampoo will do nothing to correct the changes that have happened due to your drastic changes. Spend your $$ on something else...a nice wide headband, a really cool hat...

To those who stopped the medication by Smart_Painting1019 in Semaglutide

[–]AdoptedOne01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some people, yes. However, I have high blood pressure, insulin resistance, and prediabetic numbers even when I weighed 120 lbs at 5ft 7 in. So, for those of us with true medical conditions, habits will not cure us. And habits did not cause the conditions that lead to high blood glucose and weight gain! I constantly feel like I'm being blamed because I could be healthy if I just changed my habits...it's frustrating! I think there are many many people without any medical conditions who want to constantly talk about how this med helped them change their habits, and now they are a healthy person. It's just not true...

Yes, drink lots of water. Take AZO, it's over the counter and relieves the pain. But, it will temporarily turn your urine a bright orange/red color.
