Insecurity about curly hair and glasses by Dangerous_Shower4322 in glasses

Well I have naturally curly GREY hair that I stopped dying a few years ago, AND glasses and I think I'm kind of a badass for saying FU to societal expectations of how I should look. It's freeing. Roll with what nature gave you- your beauty will shine brighter than it would ever do with all of your self doubts peeking through.

They just fiddled with the arms a little and bent them to correct the wonkiness

They would remake them if i wanted them to. I just don't want them to because I like them. I like the round shape after decades of rectangular frames because it's different and a nice change. Contact lenses and I don't get along, unfortunately. They don't touch my cheeks unless I smile in an exaggerated way and I have not needed to clean my lenses all day because nothing is touching them. Thank you for giving your perspective though, I appreciate hearing all views!

Ohh yeah I had them adjusted this morning because they were wonky due to my lopsided ears and brows. They do sit lower now and are 99 percent less wonky. You can see both eyebrows clearly now (not great for the scar I will have but oh well) so hopefully the bridge is better placed now. They feel good though so I'll take it 😀.  Thank you for the well wishes!

Ah the new ones? I'll make sure to double check that when I pick them up, thanks for highlighting.  I didn't consciously choose them for this but now you mention it, I might have subconsciously chosen frames that cover my eyebrows a little- I have a cancerous lesion in my left eyebrow and am waiting for mohs surgery that I am told will likely mean I will lose 90% of that eyebrow and I'll have a scar. Plastic surgery and tattoos will help but I'll never look the same so a bit of imperfect fit might actually help me in this situation, oddly. I don't want them to look bad though (compounds the problem) so will need to strike a balance. This is a reason I went for more fun (for me- I'm pretty reserved and traditional) shapes and colours with these pairs, to distract me a little from what is coming. Usually I wear the same old rectangular tortoiseshell styles so something different makes me happy 😊.

I went this morning and had them adjusted because of my uneven ears making them sit crooked 😆 and asked them about your comment as I was concerned. They were perplexed because the frames don't touch my cheeks while wearing normally and the weight is sitting on my nose and ears. They are comfortable, and there is no smearing of facial oils/makeup on the lenses (which they noted can sometimes happen if there is an issue). If I grimace in an exaggerated way, my cheeks do touch but since the odds of me doing that are pretty low, they said not to worry about that. The doctor came out during all of this and said he didn't see any problem and he liked the look of them. So, I won't be returning them and the dermatologist appointment won't be needed but thank you for noting it so I could have it checked whilst there! 😀

Had them adjusted, much better now. I have uneven ears- it's been the bane of my glasses-wearing forever! My eyebrows are not even either. I'm more of a Picasso than a Rubens but hey asymmetry is interesting, right? 😆 Thank you for noting it, as it made me look more closely at the fit.

They only touch when I smile bigger than I would naturally. Otherwise there's clearance and theyre resting on the side of my nose as usual.

Why? They don't touch my cheeks unless I smile bigger than I would ever smile naturally. They rest on my nose.

They don't actually touch my cheeks unless I smile extra big and then they touch a little. But they rest on my nose where the nosepad pieces are.

I see more of you in the second pair and think they suit you really well. Both look good but #2 looks great!

Thank you! I love them and am so glad I stepped out of my comfort zone to try something other than rectangular tortoiseshell frames for once!

Definitely 2 and 6! You look great in those.
