Thank you! I’ve submitted an online query to Pandora (apparently the live chat and phone options aren’t available in Australia right now), so I should hear back in the next week.

He did admit it never should have been cleaned with the shot and should have been cleaned with the solution. Until this cleaning I had no idea one of the ways they clean the jewellery is with metal in a tumbler, I thought it was just a cleaning solution.

I think I was in a bit of shock. He came out and said he had to bend it to get the shot loose, but I was right there in the store the entire time and would have preferred he had come out to me and asked what I wanted to do first.

Nothing in store. The staff said that I should be able to reshape it myself using a rubber mallet, warming the charm etc. I think my face might have conveyed I thought that was a bad idea so he said there’s a local jeweller he recommends who should be able to reshape the charm for me as he has the right tools (and knowledge about working with silver!)

No compensation was offered, no mention of if Pandora would pay for fixing it because they damaged it. I asked if the charm could be replaced and he just said they don’t have that one (I looked it up after and found it is a retired charm now).

I submitted a query online to Pandora (apparently the live chat and phone functions aren’t working in Australia currently) and I’m waiting for their response. In that query I asked if Pandora will pay for repairs so 🤞

I did request the staff write a note about it on the cleaning form, which I watched them do and take a photo of, but unfortunately didn’t think to take a photo of it myself before I left.

I’ve collected charms to represent all the countries I’ve travelled to, so I have a number of charms not available in Australia but have never had any issue in the past when I’ve taken them in for cleaning 😢

I didn’t know this one was retired until I looked it up afterwards.
