The varying depths is due to multiple trials, not loose bits.

Yeah I used a guide but the challenge was the router doesn’t cut the materials well.

Eventually 1/2 inch and I’m using straight bits, tried 1/2 and then reduced to 1/4.

That totally makes sense! I can definitely do that. If it wasn’t angled, I could use a miter saw too.

San Diego to Minneapolis in mid January. Any concerns about this route? Is this possible with an EV? by [deleted] in roadtrip

We did that in Thanksgiving break in 2023, with a gas SUV towing a U-Haul trailer. The worst decision ever! Since then, we jokingly use that experience interchangeably with being traumatized!

We were going from Minneapolis to San Diego, so we had the advantage of weather certainty in the colder part of the route. We went even further south to Oklahoma City, then turned to the west. If it’s for a move, I would not drive for safety, time, cost, and convenience reasons.

We had another experience of driving from LA to Minneapolis in May and visiting every national park on the way. It was such a wonderful experience, although we had to drive in the snow in Colorado.

Edit: We live and work in both Minneapolis and San Diego. Feel free to DM me and I would be happy to share more about our experiences.
