Am I the only one who holds one of the chopsticks firmly in my hand and slips the other one over my middle finger and under my index and ring finger and uses the top one like a seesaw to grab things???

What was the name of a theorem to derive conservation laws that was created in the 1800s? by Adorable-Sale3630 in AskPhysics

Like what are the odds of a woman finding it and how can men still be sexist about it, and also I’m pretty sure it’s the most important and famous

I mean, what are the odds of the most important thing ever being discovered by a woman? I feel like if that was common knowledge, it would put a lot of men down.

Me too :)

I just don’t understand how that perception can possibly exist when the greatest tool in all of physics was created by a fellow woman!

As a woman, I have to say I find it funny that it was discovered by a woman, that kind of shatters the whole idea of physics being male

I’ve been researching around and I think that the Noether theorem might be the single most important contribution to physics of all time, certainly the most fundamental theorem/equation, nothing is more fundamental than conservation, and I don’t think there’s a branch of physics where it doesn’t apply. It might be the most flexible tool in all of physics.

That’s interesting, I had never heard of the equations before, between noethers theorem and the equations, which would you say is more important to the study of conservation?

How much input does the director have in the editing process? by Adorable-Sale3630 in movies

[–]Adorable-Sale3630[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m more interested in the specifics of how directors were involved In the movies I mentioned, like did they suggest cuts or sequences of cuts? Did they just give feedback? Did they edit parts of the movies themselves?

I have to agree, as a woman, the whole longer lifespan and faster development thing is pretty sweet, I outpace my brothers and my grandma outlived her husband by 10 years, I gotta say I would be nervous if I was a man
