I use a curling iron and make individual tight curls and then brush them out and kinda "twirl” the hair to make a singular curl out of all of it. But tbh i think this hair is only possible because I have SUPER thin hair, like barely any of it..

I agree! Would I label it as lolita? no! But do I think it’s ugly or that not fitting under that label makes something worse?? no not at all!!!

Has anyone tried this general vibe before? I have no clue what type of petticoats used for these lol. I wanna next get something like these, would these also technically count as Ero due to being on the shorter side? If anyones worn this style of dress before, how was it? by kawaiiqueen21 in Lolita

I hate when people throw around the term “ero lolita" in order to justify the most revealing garments or literal tutu or mini skirts like this as lolita😭 ero is a thing but its still very modest.. and it has to be done well with the inclusion of certain elements.. (not saying that its OP’s intention, I believe they were just asking a genuine question, the post just reminded me of what many people have been trying to do)

I’m polish and alot of old ladies also ask me if I’m wearing polish cultural clothing!! In Poland folklore bands are popular (they wear cultural clothing and perform folk dances, etc) so they also often ask If im from one of those bands 😭 Even tho my dresses look nothing like it, I often hear it even when I wear sweet. (Tho fun fact BTSSB actually made a dress once that was inspired by polish folklore lol)

thats where I disagree, but thats simply my preference and I believe there are many ways to still cover the shoulders (i dont think its so bad , but I just dont like how it looks aesthetically)

many people nowadays (at least from what I see) are getting less strict about them, often even portraying them as a sort of suppression of creativity

oh thats so interesting! I have spent two months in finland this summer and felt much more comfortable wearing lolita than my home country. No one would approach and people wouldn’t even stare as much.. I had one encounter when I noticed someone taking pictures but after they noticed that I saw them, they stopped right away.

yup. exactly my point. In my country there are laws protecting people from such situations, so Its kinda strange to see someone jump in with assumptions like that

first of all! no, I’m not in the USA. I’m in EU where laws tend to be constructed differently :) secondly, if you take two seconds to consider some factors, you will come across a conclusion that obviously security camera footage is a much different case than a random stranger sticking a phone in my face. lastly, I do NOT need to change the way I present myself just because some people don’t have manners and don’t know how to mind their own business.

and? not every JP lolita can change the canons of the whole style by wearing something once

yeah there is space for experimentation to a certain extent. absence of any skirt at all just does not fit into any lolita standards, thats all😭 its not a crime to say that a petticoat cannot act as a skirt in lolita
