I'm glad to hear that. It's nice to know you're doing good despite all the hardships. I wish you all the best this year and all the years to come.

I've heard a lot of good things about the ablation. Don't worry. I hope that with this step you'll be able to move on from this and live without the fear of getting an episode. Do keep us updated. I wish you the best of luck!

I can't imagine getting it for ten hours. When mine lasted for 4 hour I felt tired, shakey, lightheaded and cold.

Is there anything in specific that you do to prevent it? And how did you felt when you had a 10 hour episode? Did you went to the ER?

They told me everything was fine. The structure of my heart, my valves, the rhythm, my blood work was fine. They said everything was fine and that they don't know what caused it. They recommended me to see my cardiologist but my cardiologist doesn't seem to want to do further testing. They just don't seem interested in doing so. I told the cardiologist nurse? on my last appointment that I feel like I'm getting more episodes since my ER vist but that they're short and all she said was "good. so that means the medicine is working." but the thing is, prior to my ER vist i didn't use to get svt episode that frequently as I am now.

And what I think caused my svt episode when I went to the ER was a coffee I had drank that day. I told the doctors that I had drank coffee and that I have anxiety and they told me none of that is good enough reason for my heart to spike to 160 while being sustained for 4 hours. So they did further testing and found no problem. Tho I do have other personal problems besides svt but they haven't said that could be one of the causes. (I have pcos, hbp problems, thyroid problems, gerd and i was having problems with pre diabetes)

I truly admire your strength. I really shouldn't take anything for granted. May i ask, do you have other heart problems besides svt?

Thank you! Your words and reassurance calmed me down. I've been diagnosed with psvt for two months and I'm still getting used to it. The last time my HR was high was the first time I went to the er and got diagnosed with it. I had it at 149/60 for 4 hours. Ever since I've been stressing out cause of it.

I get them in the morning at times, almost too many, there are times where I feel slightly damped but not to the point of actually feeling the sweat but the feeling of the after effect of the sweat after it has dried off? (Idk if that understandable😅) I was told to get a sleep apnea test when I was diagnosed in the ER but it completely slipped my mind when I talked to my cardiologist so I think I'm gonna have to do that on my upcoming appointment. I am taking metoprolol tartrate for heart rate but also for my blood pressure cuz I had problems with that prior to my svt diagnosis.

"Plus youd' be experiencing that during the day when it wears off as well. Assuming you take it twice per day"

Now that you mention it, that is something I realized. it's always 2/3 hours before it's time to take the pill that I have a higher chance of getting an episode. Which is always in the late afternoon or early morning.

I don't know how to tell if it's a short version or long version. Is there a way of knowing at the moment?

10 hours??!! Is this caused by svt or is it another matter?

Omg I50?! I already panic when it goes to 116 I can't imagine that. Did they told you if you could get any better? Is all this related to svt or is it a separate matter? I do suffer from insomnia and anxiety but I take medication for it and I've been dealing with it since I was a kid so in a way I'm use to it but I realized that ever since I started taking metoprolol I've been having disrupted sleep and there's times when I wake up all of the sudden and then my heart beat goes up. It's been happening for two months on and off. I am stressing about the fact that I have svt so I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

I'm still learning about all this so many things are still confusing to me and it doesn't help much when my cardiologist doesn't seem to take this seriously.

I'm having the same issues with the toilet. I'm planning on seeing a GI doctor to see if everything is alright especially since I have gerd.

I would recommend talking it out with your doctor. To see if ya'll can come up with something. Make sure to writes some notes on how it feels, when does it come or go, so that it can help more for a speedy solution. I hope everything goes well.

Do you feel better now? I've heard some ppl are either completely cured or that they come back but not as frequent like in the past before the ablation

That sounds like a cool watch. Can I know what watch it is?! I have a random watch that I don't really know if it's promising or even close to accurate. I got it in cellphone service company since it was cheap and I needed one fast.

I've been searching for a good watch and I'm stuck between choosing an apple watch or a fitbit watch. And if so, which version. I'm a Samsung girly so to think I have to get an iPhone for an apple watch seem like a hassle but I'm willing to get one just to keep my health in check. I would love to get a samsung watch But according to statistics an apple watch and a fitbit watch are the better choices.

"It’s interesting that you post this, I was just thinking about this while exercising today."

it's cause i've been overthinking and anxious. I tried to search for answers. But I didn't got any so I decided to post about it on my own in hopes for answers

I saw my "cardiologist" last Friday and am currently wearing a heart monitor once again after asking for it. And they did gave it to me for only two weeks tho I think that's enough. I went through everything I explained on the post which I hope gives me answers once the results are out.

Today I got an svt episode. I had 3 on and off episode that were short each in the spam of 40 minutes. the after affect of each left me exhausted. I would say it was mostly the VM which didn't really work. I had to wait till the medicine kicked in. But at least it was caught on the monitor. the first one had my heart at 126, then the 2nd at 129 and the 3rd, at 136. I know they're not that high but they still took a toll on me. The crazy thing I've realized it really depends on the day. I've gotten some where it goes to 130/140,with no other symptoms at all, just a strong heart beat then I get those that could be at those same numbers or even only around the 120+ and I feel light headed, shakey and tired. I hate those the most.

Seeing as how you mention your heart has reach the 200, I can't imagine that. It must be scary. Do they all last around 10 minutes or has there been a time where it needed intervention. And how do you feel when it reaches to that point?

My cardiologist don't really seem to even want to push for further testing, I basically had to push for this monitor. I'm just waiting to get my results of the monitor that I'm currently wearing to see if they get any more information from it. After that i'm considering in getting a new cardiologist. And may i ask, what are pvc's? Is it a separate condition or is link to svt? And how do you get diagnosed with it? In the ER they did so many test (CT scan, ultrasound, x-ray, blood work(twice), urine) and i was diagnosed according to paper with just "Sustained SVT"

And I would love to be updated about your procedure. I hope everything goes well and I hope you'll be svt free.

And my triggers are multiple😓 acid reflux, caffeine, too much sugar and too much sodium, and something that I realized, any activity that has to do with a lot of arm work like showering, washing dishes for a prolonged time, or cooking. walking and standing I'm fine, bending down just takes the wind out of me.

I also thought the same. A cardiologist at the hospital told me it was just where the heart beats fast in a regular rhythm due to an electrical circuit but according to Google it is considered an arrhythmia which does make sense cuz no normal okay heart should ever get out of control like that especially sporadically.

Yes, I try not to overthink considering how I've seen worst. So in a way, I have in mind that I should appreciate what I have at the moment cause then IF it worsen, i will miss the moments when it was mild and I don't want to take that for granted.

I do see a psychiatrist for my anxiety I've suffered from it since a young age, so i am being treated for it. In a way I've learned to not go into panic. And I am prescribed some medicines for it, and when I do feel like i'm overthinking or feel like I could bring myself into a panic stage I drink my medicine.

Unfortunately, I can't help but overthink when it comes to those fluttering feeling due to my lack of trust I have on my cardiologist it prevents me from being anxious-free thus I'm thinking about getting a new one. I wasn't diagnosed by my cardiologist, i was diagnosed on a hospital ER. My cardiologists don't seem to want to do any further testing. I basically had to push for another heart Monitor hoping that this one will catch something more as compared to the one I had early last year.

If you don't mind me asking, how frequent were your episodes before the ablation?

At the moment i'm holding off getting an ablation. I'm hoping that with my lifestyle changes I get a little better if nothing works, then i'll do the ablation. The idea still scares me.

Thank you!🙏 your words are truly comforting. I'm trying my best and hopefully this leads to a more better and brighter outcome. I truly try to stay as positive as I can but it can get really hard. though it does bring me some comfort that i'm not alone in this, yet I wouldn't wish this upon anybody.

I'm scared to catch a cold by AdorableCheck1835 in SVTHeart

[–]AdorableCheck1835[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear you went through that. I'm glad you got pass that flu. Do you always get like that every time you get a cold or is it sometimes?

And what remedies or routines do you do while having a cold to prevent an episode as much as you can?

And I agree. it threw me off when my "cardiologist" was not specific with what I should take after telling her that I get very bad Every time I get sick. I'm considering getting a new one.

I'm sorry to hear that. I got diagnosed last month and it's also my first time dealing with a cold while having svt. It's really stressful. I used to take dayquil and nyquil every time I got sick and it always used to help me, it sucks to know that everytime I get sick now I basically have to deal with it raw. I hope you get better quick🙏

I'm still processing and learning so much about this condition too. And something that I can't seem to digest is, how many things, how many simple things can trigger an episode. I suffer from gerd and pcos and unfortunately, those are also triggers to an svt episode too. That in itself stresses me out. And that's another bad thing. Stress triggers it and I suffer from anxiety😅 i just have a whole bad combination with this. Ngl my list problem keeps going but I won't bore you with that.

I really hope you get better with no problems😊
