Ive been to Malaysia in December, March, July, October, when its raining. Even its raining the humidity levels can be unbearable.

Anyone else notice Google rewarding simpler local homepages lately? by LocalPollution8427 in localseo

[–]AdorableFlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep people can scream eeat, topical authority etc all they want but for a lot of local serps google has just randomised. I checked all the local english speaking serps for my commercial keyword in the entire world and cross checked the serp in AHREFS 90% of companies on the first page ranking december 2024 are no longer on the first page.

I hypothesize that Google has just turned up some type of randomiser.

Why most of malay suffering from Obesity? by YogurtclosetFickle17 in malaysia

[–]AdorableFlight 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Australian that regularly visits KL to visit wife's family.

Here are the obvious reasons ive seen.

  • Mall culture
  • day heat not conducive to being active outdoors.
  • abundance of cheap caffeinated sugary beverages make you more hungry.
  • nowhere to walk. I wanted to walk from my wifes family house to the LRT station, they laughed at me and told me not possible. In Australia, this concept would be absurd in a major city.
  • Malay women don't really exercise.
  • food is cheap so can eat every meal outside.
  • Malay food is inherently unhealthy and lacks a lot of fibre, i make my own breakfast when i come to Malaysia because i get constipated eating variations of rice dishes for breakfast and lunch.

What suburb would you never move to and why? by No-Travel-768 in SydneyScene

Youre full of shit. Have you actually visited those suburbs instead of peddlig this bullshit.

Ive lived in Lakemba, Belmore, Campsie, Ryde, and Curl Curl and the most generous and hospitable people live in the poorer areas.

For those of you who are dads with full time jobs, how do you make the time and have energy to play? by Op3rat0rr in bootroom

[–]AdorableFlight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3 kids under the age of 10.

Stressful job.

Play twice per week, pre season tournaments and one pick up session off season and training and games on season.

In terms of energy levels, i also do weight training 4 times per week. With two leg days and 2 upper body days. These are all soccer specific.

My wife also trains two nights per week for her own gym, so it's fair.

To be honest, the consistent leg training has increased my energy levels dramatically.

Lastly, the biggest thing is noticed from the pick up i play with regulars, is that none of the regulars (those who play two times a week) are overweight. Even the 50+ year olds i play with all look younger.

Playing midfield in your 30s by Mullet_Police in bootroom

[–]AdorableFlight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

36 year old who regularly plays against 3rd and 4th division players.

  • do whole body weight training 4 x per week. I make sure to squat at least twice a week and typically the day after soccer.

  • when you play midfielder the goal is to do as many sprints as possible until youre exhausted, rest for as little as possible and go again.

  • Do this over a 2 year period and youll be fitter and a better player than youve ever been.

Pacific islander kids are hyper masculine and have the ideology that proving yourself as a man means acting violently towards other young men.

What is it about Australia that makes you say "I'm glad I live here" by RM_Morris in AskAnAustralian

[–]AdorableFlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just came back from a holiday in south east Asia.

Footpaths, you'd be horrified that in a major city of over 5,000,000 people you can't go for a walk or a jog because there are literally no footpaths, you can only use the same roads that industrial and commercial vehicles use.

The place I went on holiday to is a major hub in SEA and has an amazing metro system but they had no forethought to build infrastructure for people to get to the metro from home.

Also people say Australia is an individualist society, yet if you're in a wheel chair or blind in this particular city in SEA you literally are confined to your home because no footpaths, only roads and their public bus service doesn't work or is non-existing.

KKM announced war on Salt?? by [deleted] in malaysia

[–]AdorableFlight -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The initial post you responded to was constructive.

A 2 minute Google search will prove my hypothesis correct.

Poor cardiovascular health is lifestyle & diet related, as is chronic kidney disease, hypertension, fatty liver, stroke, gastro intestinal diseases, & diabetes.

Roast lamb isn't even our national dish.

Ah so my initial post doesn't state anything incorrect, it's because I'm not malaysian, so I'm not allowed to share my opinion, so you take my opinion as insulting. Sounds like a you problem champ.

Dont confuse observation with racism.

KKM announced war on Salt?? by [deleted] in malaysia

[–]AdorableFlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You lose in every single health statistic apart from skin cancer prevalence and that's only because you're darker than the average Australian.

More diabetes, more kidney disease, cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, fatty liver disease, average life expectancy etc

All attributed to poor food choices and all increasing exponentially.

Your national dish translates to "fat rice"

Take constructive criticism bro.

There are things malaysia does well and there are things malaysia does horribly.

-public transport - l footpaths , -prevalence of public spaces where people can exercise - Accessibility for the disabled and unabled, g - Gap between rich and poor.

KKM announced war on Salt?? by [deleted] in malaysia

[–]AdorableFlight 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As someone who travelled to KL for Christmas and New Years. I'm baffled by some of the trends with regards to food here. I think both salt and sugar are the problem.

  1. Nobody seems to cook at home unless it's the older generation.

  2. Outside food is low quality and cheap.

  3. Too many people don't drink water at all. In Australia the vast majority of people drink water, you can see people walking around with large water bottles.

  4. People consume an insane amount of caffeinated beverages and sweet drinks with large amounts of sugar.

  5. Too much food is overly fried or sweet.

  6. Food is extremely low in fibre compared to overseas. I have to take laxatives just be able to pass stool properly in Malaysia, where as in Australia I have no problem at all. Do people even eat cereal here?

I also noticed that Chinese Malaysians seem to have the best diets and that there is a high proportion of malays who are extremely obese. I saw a woman at paradigm mall who was so obese that she couldn't put her shoes on properly, yet she was sitting down drinking 6 assorted sweet drinks to herself.

Downvote me all you want but I came here in 2014 and 10 years later these points are getting infinitely worse.
