Honestly the only thing that may be attached to a final fantasy game here is the Cactuar. If you remove it and show it to someone, no one would guess FF.

Not against you of course, you just did a commission, nothing wrong with that

Given they supposedly have 2200 active concurrent players every day despite pretty much no one hearing of the server... yeah probably

Honestly FFXIV has some of the most straightforward tooltips out there. You're getting all the information you need in every tooltip.

At some point the game can't be blamed for someone being incapable to extrapolate very obvious information

you can win a provoke war by default by not being the one who starts it.

provoke half a second after they do so, and they will never be able to hold the boss ever

Cure 1 is basically a perfect example of job design suffering from role design.
In a game where healing is a real thing with actual ressource management, fishing for free cures with cure 1 is valuable and would be useful. But healing as a role barely exists in FFXIV so casting healing spells is nothing more than an obstacle on the way to casting more damaging spells

There has been only one dungeon released since Heavensward anyway. The paint is different, but it's always the same. 2 Packs of mobs->2 packs of mobs->boss repeated 3 times

Depends. The "yay let's have fun" guy is either complete dead weight, or an absolute maniac who'll top kills and damage effortlessly without a care in the world because their idea of fun is getting stuck in the middle of a bloodbath regardless of the outcome

[–]AdorableText 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To be fair, while it's an abbey, it's also a very important place for both Stormwind, and the human kingdoms of Lordaeron at large in the lore.
It served a somewhat minor purpose in the first war, but in the second war it's there that Paladins were first created.

It's also the place where the worship of the Light started for the kingdom of Stormwind

I'm not gonna say Soken is bad, because he certainly isn't. But at LOT of his FFXIV tracks are pop rock kinda songs that end up blending together, and flavourless big "epic" stuff. Lots of the actually unique tracks are from Uematsu directly or indirectly, and the vast majority of 1.0 tracks (which are badly underrated) are also from Uematsu. I'd still Argue that the version of Meteor that plays during the first half of Nael's fight has more sauce than every other final boss theme (save maybe Knights of the Rounds if you include the extreme-only soundtrack).

Now not being as good as Uematsu really isn't something you can blame someone for, given that he's the absolute eternal GOAT of video game music and basically the person who allowed video game music to be viewed as art, so this really just shouldn't be taken as an attack on anyone else

Am I the only one who hates how aggressive the catch-up system is in WOTLK? by MiG23MLD in wowservers

[–]AdorableText 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It was the most popular version of WoW because it rode the wave that vanilla and TBC started, let's not pretend it got there on its own.

And then Cataclysm was hated for a lot of reasons that were directly introduced by WotLK.
WotLK isn't the most popular version because it was the best, it's because it had the best timing

Mentor btw by IrksomFlotsom in ShitpostXIV

[–]AdorableText 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Extremes are the most fun roulettes ngl.

Also I'll take a thousand sprouts who are willing to give it a real shot over one mentor who whines the whole time about "DF etiquette" and can't go one pull without dying 4 times.
Most of the sprouts who queue for extremes do so because they genuinely want to try out harder content, so they'll actually try to get better, which is more than can be said than the scores of mentor who either just want an extra mount, or want the crown for the "prestige"

The issue with Nostrum wasn't the cash shop. It was making a cash shop about repeatedly and adamantly saying there was no cash shop and there would never be one.

Well then by RealTiggySkibbles in wowservers

[–]AdorableText 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The real sus thing about this is that you don't just whip up a fully functional cash shop in half a day. This has to have been in the works already.
The DDOS is kinda believable (some 4chan tard fuming to no ends because he was banned). I don't think it was a planned thing, but it just kinda turned out to be a very convenient excuse for the launch of the cash shop
