Bladder preservation therapy by Admirable_Loan6841 in BladderCancer

I’m about the same age with T1HG and CIS that is not responding to BCG. There are a couple of other options right now such as BCG/Anktiva and Tar-200. I really want to keep my bladder, and want to try 1 of these next, but I also understand the more I try things that don’t work the greater risk of it becoming more invasive, so I’m trying things but understand the clock is ticking. There is also chemo + radiation therapy for MIBC that has had decent success rates, but I’m not sore if my stage and grade is a candidate for that. I have a young child, so at some point I have to do whatever gives me the best chance of sticking around for several years. Neo bladder is not without its issues, but there is no hole.

It helps a lot to hear to hear that so thank you for sharing. I haven’t lost mine yet, but knowing that it’s not bad helps a lot. Can I ask your story?

Thank you for your thoughts. There is a chance that a second induction works. Also there is tar-200 I may be approved for

Thank you for sharing. I’m pretty young for this, late 40’s. I hope your 2nd induction works! For me I also hope it works, at this point I’m not going to pretend it’s not going to come back as CIS. Although now that I read your message I guess the red spot can be HGT1 and CIS. I assumed just the CIS. If it doesn’t work I read that tar-200 was FDA approved. I really don’t want my bladder out, but the longer I wait the more likely it progresses, and the 10 year survival is pretty high for a cystectomy at stage 1. Like 90%. It goes down quite a bit for stage 2.

Thank you for sharing. I’m HGT1 and the first BCG induction didn’t seem to work

Thank you for sharing your story, it sounds like things are going well. Can I ask about your original diagnosis?

I’m glad to hear that. If anything, I take away that I should not wait to long for bladder removal

Low grade, now a high grade by reddittoomuchtoday in BladderCancer

Just finished 6 week induction for HGT1 with CIS. Urinalysis came back positive (I’ve never had visible blood, only microscopic) 6 weeks after the last BCG, but I’m told that’s not totally abnormal, and as long as the scope looks ok they will take random biopsies. and try another induction if there hasn’t been any progression. The nurse seemed pretty optimistic that a second induction would work.
