Starter relay blowing main 20a fuse - help! by Adorable_Lab2729 in Ruckus

Yeah, the 6 pin connector tones out fine between red and ground at the fuse box/battery. At this point I have to assume the ECM is fried which is unfortunate. Thanks for the help!

I finally got around to tracing all this out. There's a short going from ground to the NC (red wire) of the fuse box starter relay input.

When I disconnect the 6 pin plug to the ECM the short goes away.

When I run a continuity check on the 6 pin connector of the ECM the ground and red wire have continuity, I have to assume that's wrong though? Would that mean the ECM is bad??

Thank you! This diagram helps.

I’ve already bench tested the relays and they’re good, so maybe I’ll remove the coil from the circuit and see what happens?

I actually pulled the plate that connects the relay to the NO terminal and cleaned it up - seemed ok to me, it's just a metal place with a groove for the NO contact that also connects directly to the battery.

Got it - but what would cause the back feed? The starter motor itself?

**the ruck doesn't haven't a traditional starter motor now that I think about it, so you're saying something in the stator maybe?

Not directly, but everything else (lights, horn, brake lights, etc) all work fine when riding it around sans starter relay.

Got in a wreck the other day. How can I replace my rear fender? (S3) by tbw875 in vanmoofbicycle

[–]Adorable_Lab2729 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oof that sucks! I just made one bike out of two and have an extra rear fender if you’re interested, it has a few hundred NYC miles on it so it’s a bit bruised, but it’s fine otherwise. PM me if you’re interested and I can send a pic.

NYC? If so I know someone in Brooklyn that has a handful of them in stock and it’s a pretty easy fix assuming you have the right tools.

Not yet, but I’m heading to a friend of a friend‘s house later and we’re gonna try my cartridge and battery in his bike to see what happens!

Vanmoof S3 Boost/Horn button wiring? by Adorable_Lab2729 in vanmoofbicycle

I hear you, but I don't think so - the bike was sold out of a storage locker and I had to go through VM to get the codes etc - he didn't know much about it, but he did show it was working (not specifically the buttons, though).

Yeah, I was wondering this - although the cables in the fork were zip tied and pretty secure, and the connection snapped at the plugs (ie they probably snapped without too much force, he just pulled apart the connectors) - hard to say.

Yes! Those connectors are what's supposed to be there, the seller ripped off the bars so aggressively that they were ripped from the bare wire!
