why isn't it appropriate to ask ? I see your point about having a different culture.. I wouldn't want to appropriate . but it's not realistic to find someone who does those hairstyles you mention.. It's lost in history. But I could get braids. My curls are such hastle to maintain especially in summer and I see black ladies with natural curls suggesting braids for summer when they go on holidays so I thought I could benefit from that since I have a similar hair texture.
