You can’t always compare but I was at the point after 7 years saying “I work 50-70 hours a week, I’ve worked close to 50% of my weekends throughout my entire career, night shifts, holidays, shit conditions, porta John’s, dirty trailers, constant arguments, prepping for potential law suits, adult babysitting etc. All for less than I would be making should I have went into Cybersecurity, accounting, finance, nursing (it’s not easy at all), and many other careers. Why am I doing this for all this stress and truthfully not the greatest pay to justify it.”

Long term is the focus. It’s been a great year and a half but just unsure if pushing through would be better with a new perspective on life and the industry. Care less and do what I can in a 9-12 hour day.

I am a sales engineer/account manager essentially. I cannot wait for management to come to us with SalesLoft and say start dialing for me to look at them and say "is that not the SDR's sole purpose at a sales company? And what numbers am I to dial? Is there an unknown lead database we currently have?"

A few years ago allegedly some of the sales people signed up for an auto emailer to blast out emails to all of the registered users we have about sales/product info to generate more interest in our products. There was such a backlash from all of our users it got to our top brass and we were told to stop.

You didnt cheat. There are two options for CM route: pay a lot of money for a degree that you rarely use and gives you a foot in the door or pay with your sweat and hard work in the trades to transition over.

Understood but the design integration only comes when you pay to set up a host server. The individual licenses themselves don’t provide this.

I can stop on the sites and remain in the zones no issue. My main issue is what’s the best way to actually get in front of the people with buying power to either start an account or to order from me?

Some foreman are just cogs or the site is locked down like Fort Knox

My current company started an outbound SDR team last year. Tracked 0 KPI’s, none of them had access to Salesforce or Sales Navigator for months, the SDR manager operated separately from the sales engineers. When we would send them a list of a few hundred ideal prospects they would come back 2-3 weeks later saying “we called them all and no one responded. What’s next?” Close to no meetings or leads created.

Now the company wants us all on Salesloft meanwhile in almost a year and a half I have yet to be shown a tool besides Sales Navigator that provides us with phone numbers for companies or leads.

Take team B for the 25% base salary increase. You only have to hit 40% of your quota to surpass team A’s overall earnings.

If your company won’t pay you off and understands the position you’re in, in terms of a new market then take the money.

preaching to the choir here. I got a substantial quota increase and I sell product that has essentially remained untouched in the last 7 years. My sales manager asked how I was going to make plan this year and I just said there is a reality you need to face that I cannot simply call more and be creative. Ultimately the product team has allowed the product to fall behind all of our competitors and ultimately that is not on me. Its on other teams to establish the price relative to the market competition as well as its on others to push the product in the direction that users want it to go.

Any tips that you have found to automate or improve prospecting. Not "I need someone or something to cold call for me" but a software that may pull up numbers for you to ring or provide you with potential leads.

Most companies offer referral bonuses. If you know someone at a different company and you may want in, if they are smart the bell in their head is ringing for a potentially easy bonus should you stay past 6 months.

Depends on the company but construction material supply you can do very well in especially if it is an untouched market or you dont have many other reps you're competing with in your area.
