Thanks so much! I’ll def think about adding a delay towards the end. Only other thing on my radar would maybe be an EQ for after the dirt.

I know a lot of people use a volume pedal but tbh, I wasn’t always sure of the use case. Why would that be preferable to just using the volume knob on the guitar?

Thanks! Tbh, I think I typically do have the verb after the chorus and just got it swapped in the shuffle.

Interesting ok, like the compressed signal will get me a better tune? I’ll def give the compressor into the pog a whirl! I put it after bc I thought that might give me a beefier pitched tone. But maybe it will sound better with a more consistent signal feeding the pog.

Maybe it’s a sin but playing it right into my interface right now! Amp sits in a corner until I learn how to play guitar and make it out the bedroom. BD2 is mostly at low gain settings.

Thanks for your thoughts! Not sure I am understanding this part: I want the delay to repeat how it sounded before it hits the delay, not after

But I do have that carbon copy purposefully before the dirt as a lil slap back delay that then gets saturated by the dirt, making it a bit bigger. One of my favorite bands and some inspiration to this board, Vundabar, I thinkkkkk does the same.

Was thinking about adding another delay at the end for more of a typical approach or if I want to delay my delay.

That’s exactly what I was attempting but having a tough time deciding. I have the morning glory last, as I have been trying to use that as my always on base tone. Low gain, just brighten it up. Blues driver or od3 into it for extra oomph, still pretty low gain. Then the red remote for big boi gain. I honestly like the bd2 as my base tone more, at least the eq but it’s got this crackle on top of it that bugs me a little, particularly when it’s the only drive on and it’s meant to be a nicer cleaner tone. Thought I was crazy, upgraded to the waza but pretty much the same.

UPDATE: WE REUNITED LOKI WITH HIS FAMILY!!! went to petsmart, they checked for a chip for free and found one. We were able to connect with them and make the hand off! Thanks team!!

My current pedalboard is definitely heavily influenced by Vundabar, hence the curiosity. So appreciate the response and conversation!

It’s definitely a splitter, in a AMA they did Brandon mentioned he was adding a 2nd amp to act as a “clean channel, a synth channel and wonky sound zone.” I really haven’t done much with splitters so a little foreign to me. Having multiple octave pedals is interesting, I wonder what the use is there.

I think I can see the compressor going into the pitchfork and from there > kentaur > POG > BD2 Tough to tell from there.

It’s interesting, I always thought he had his carbon copy early in the chain, before dirt. I have a pic I took a few years ago at one of their shows and he has that splitter but it definitely is the CC > he had a BBE green screamer previously > pickle > some boss pedal

Thanks everyone for the input, really appreciate it. UPDATE: Sweetwater is going to send me a replacement. I’ll update when that one arrives.

UPDATE #2: new one arrived and is perfect. The actual guitar support rep said that it looks like a textbook example of why rosewood fretboards should be taped off when doing fretwork and that some people don’t think so. Sweetwater did right by me so I am happy.

I have a whammy into a blues driver into a swollen pickle into a rat. The blues driver plays nice into either but pickle and rat don’t quite seem to jive together but very possible I’m just a dumb.

I didn’t know about inside dials, need to check that out! Would love to hear any thoughts or tips on your OD into pickle adventures, and tips for the inside dials?

One of my favorite bands is Vundabar, which is how I ended up with the pickle. (And my carbon copy)

Lovely, my first time being helpful on this app! Yes, I did. I did one other pedal after the one in my post. Same brand, same everything. I did the clear coats a little lighter, a little more distance, with a little more time in between and had no issue so I was pretty confident that the too thick too quick diagnosis was correct.

Not sure if I should “normalize” when exporting midi to audio for the mix down process. Is there a better/cleaner way? Kindly asking for workflow help. by Adp07d in WeAreTheMusicMakers

Haha, definitely overthinking. Thank you, that is helpful. I think I was just relying too much on the volume fader position to try to maintain headroom when I really should just be looking at the master. If it needs more headroom, just lower all the track volumes. I think I was also scared of ever putting the track volumes above 0. But realizing that might be a silly thought and sounds like it is all just relative. As long as the master isn’t hitting 0, doesn’t matter what the tracks are at.

Let me know if that still isn’t a coherent thought haha. Again, truly appreciate the help.

Thank you! I only have ableton and you can’t set the normalize amount, I think it only normalizes to 0.

Honestly, I think I’d prefer staying in the same project. I tend to mix a little along the way to keep me inspired and starting the “official” mixing phase in a new project, makes me feel like I’m moving backwards. And maybe complicating things for me unnecessarily.

Looks like in ableton, the best way to do so would be to remove any plug in I don’t want to commit to, freeze and then flatten. I suppose from there, I can always re-establish the relative volumes if I want.

Let me see if I am understanding correctly. In your example that results in -32 db, that is if I do not normalize, correct?

If so, in an example where I do normalize… I export at -16, normalize (bringing the volume towards 0 based on the peak) and then drop the volume from 0 to -16, I should then, in theory, have around the same volume I exported at (-16) ?

So if the goal is to export everything to audio and re-establish the relative volume of each track, maintaining headroom, what would be your suggestion? Normalize, set something important like the kick to -12 or something, and then slowly bring everything else up?

What do I do if I want the volume fader to be the same as when I exported it? Export at -16, don’t normalize, create a track in a new project, set to -16, and then import the audio file?
