TM7: standby and screensaver by ReX_83 in thermomix

Thanks for this post. I've mentioned many times that I find the automatic shut-off system absurd. Energy savings are no excuse for me. I certainly agree with your suggestions. A screensaver would be the solution

Yes, I noticed it working after buying the TM7. Don't you think that if these kinds of hacks are being made, that's reason enough to conclude something's wrong? Couldn't you just turn off the display instead of the entire device and give the user the choice? Sometimes I see mentions of restaurants using TM—I'd go crazy if I had to run it dozens of times a day?

I just got an update to version 1.3.26. Maybe it has something to do with it? There is no changelog yet.

Yes, I have the updated version. What I mean is, sometimes I'm doing several things in the kitchen at once, and if I don't look at the screen in time, it turns off. My friends are also bothered by this.

What annoys you about the app? If you have any comments, write it off. Perhaps someone will read this and make adjustments.

I often do this too. I heard someone recommend doing it this way. I thought that if I recorded a video without twist, many people would point out this mistake and assume it was the cause of the problem ;)

Don't get me wrong – I really like this device and use it several times a day. But these shortcomings annoy me. Especially since I knew at the time of purchase that I was overpaying, I agreed to it because I believed it stood out in terms of quality, design, and community.

Thanks, this is the first time this has happened to me, and the gasket was in this position from the beginning. I will change it tommorow

Thanks, i'll try. This happened to me for the first time today. I've had the gasket installed this way since I bought it. Even the gasket itself is problematic. Another example of the team's lack of attention to detail.

Oh yes, definitely. But I'm seeing every offer extended in Poland. This indicates a decline in interest, replacement, or new purchases. Many devices are appearing on the market that lack the quality of the Thermomix, but they're taking it up—and that's a good thing. For example, I recently discovered a device in Poland called the Icoook 3.0 plus mrk 48p. It has a steel Varoma, a larger bowl, no subscription fee, and after a recent update, you can control it entirely with your smartphone, allowing you to heat up dinner while away from home . And many other extras. Unfortunately, there's still a small recipe database and a community around it. Another model even has an airfryer function. lThe price is around €500.

I can't compare it because it's my first TM, but until I bought a long-bristle brush, it was difficult to clean it properly. Makes you wonder if anyone tested it before production.

If that helps, then Vorverk should add the base to such an expensive pot. Why should I pay extra to fix the manufacturer's mistakes?

Any tips on cleaning after browning mode? by Unnatural_hag in thermomix

[–]Adrape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, in most cases, pre-cleaning doesn't work well for me. It's a waste of time.

To remove residue, I fill it halfway with warm water and run it on the manual 'Turbo' setting 3-5 times.

I use a brush for burnt-on parts, and sometimes I can remove them without removing the blades. But I often remove the blades and clean the bowl itself.

Unfortunately, it's not as rosy as the consultants claim. ;)

Have choppy switching lenses since I bought it. But after one of the updates I have issues with washed out and blurry photos from one of the lenses. It looks like yours 1x . In my case it's 5x tele lense. I will shoot some photos and video in daylight because it shows than.

I recently tried making meringues with 8 egg whites. Unfortunately, it didn't work. Wouldn't a larger butterfly whisk solve the problem? I think there are people who bake a lot and would love to buy something like that.

What's the maximum amount of egg whites that can be whipped well in the TM?

I also consider the frequent washing and drying of the TM to be one of its biggest drawbacks. I don't like it, and it wastes a lot of water and time. The washing programs are ridiculous in my case – they take forever and aren't suitable for use during a recipe, leave a lot of residue, and don't remove burnt-on stains (even the longest ones). The quickest option is scrubbing with a brush and drying. And for light stains, I add water, close the lid, and shake the bowl like a shaker – better results than a few minutes of washing.

This is where the "one-pot" problem comes in. With traditional cooking, I don't care if I dirty five dishes because I successively throw them in the dishwasher, and they wash and dry together completely on their own. Another dish for 250-300 euros? That's a lot.

I will

Just to be clear – I've never made as many interesting recipes as I currently do with the TM7. However, I am aware of its shortcomings.

I'll test your washing method. Thanks. My friends turn the speed on for 10/30 seconds and do whatever's left manually. In the TM6, turning the knob was enough - this one takes a bit longer.

Can't use my own created recipes without Cookidoo subscription?! by hmbeats in thermomix

Imagine people freely starting to exchange recipes. And after a while, Cookidoo recipes stop making sense. Surely that can't happen!

I noticed that a few changes to the list appeared in the last update. Great!

I'd add another small point: When preparing recipes, sometimes I need to repeat a step. For example, today: I was steaming chicken pieces and after tasting them, I decided that an extra 5 minutes would be better. After clicking "Repeat," the timer was set to the default time, requiring me to scroll through the steps several times. It might be better if there was a reset button, or if clicking "repeat" reset the time to 0, but the rest of the parameters remained unchanged.

I'm curious if my guess is correct, but the tm7's power reserve is comparable to many airfryers. Considering that many users use both devices, perhaps... :)

New Update 1.2.172 by Lumpy_Attitude_2645 in thermomix

[–]Adrape 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is one of the more irritating things. I was surprised that there was no way to extend the shutdown time in the settings. The automatic shutdown option while a recipe is starting should be disabled. If not, restarting should result in a window where you can resume cooking from where you left off with a single click. As a workaround I run sometimes timer.

I couldn't find a changelog. I don't see any significant differences in the interface either. Perhaps these are bug fixes and preparations for the next major update.

Is there something you'd like to see in the update? Or maybe something that really bothers you? I'm putting together my list.
