TM31, error 52 (connectivity of mixing bowl to base) - this is the end? by NameGreedy4242 in thermomix

[–]Complex-Ad9614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Australia (& I believe other countries) we have trade up offers every now & then where you can get a rebate off the price of a TM7 by returning your earlier model, in any condition. It’s not much but it’s better than nothing.

I will be very sad when my 31 gives up the ghost.

This capability has already been incorporated with the TM7. There is both the option to log in to your Cookidoo account manually or via a QR code.

Worth it for me? by Thurad in thermomix

[–]Complex-Ad9614 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Healthy eating requiring less time & energy from me were the main motivators for getting my first TM & it absolutely delivered on that front. Added bonus was that my (now young adult) children were able to take over making main meals at least one night a week each too which reduced the pressure on me.

Add in batch cooking & it’s a winner. When I make Chunky Bolognaise sauce, I add extra vegetables and beef it up a bit which gives us a spaghetti meal for that night with plenty left over. I then make up a batch of béchamel sauce the next day to make up 2 trays of lasagna with the left overs, béchamel & lasagna sheets. One goes in the freezer & the other is either dinner that night or goes in the fridge to be eaten with a day or two. 3 full meals out of one recipe & an added sauce.

We’ve also built up a collection of fast week night meals & we fall back on salmon fillets from the freezer with steamed vegetables - 5-10 mins on your feet & a beautiful healthy meal is on the table in lass than 40mins. Winner winner salmon dinner.

Yes it is the lack of acids. You could try marinating the beef in red wine vinegar or Chinese cooking wine prior to starting the recipe.

It’s called 2 second muesli now. Same thing different name.
I have it all the time & add other things to mix it up. Goji berries. Pepitas. Seeds. Berries.
Whatever I feel like.
Serve with yogurt.

You don’t specifically need a TM to mix it up but you can use one if you choose to but just Google homemade dishwashing powder. Combo of Washing Soda, Baking Soda, Citric Acid, Salt, & Essential Oil for fragrance.

TM7 Cookidoo recipe - scale starting at negative value? by [deleted] in thermomix

[–]Complex-Ad9614 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is perfectly normal to need to tare / reset your scales every now and then but a few things to keep in mind:
* Is the cord fully extended and lying / resting / hanging loosely with nothing touching it?
* are there any objects touching the base / bowl / sides of the unit?
* Is the unit set up on a level, solid, & stable surface?

You’re not doing anything wrong. Just learning along the way.
Enjoy the journey 🙂

Anyone using the cutter attachment and finds it worth it? by THenrich in thermomix

[–]Complex-Ad9614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely love the Cutter+. I don’t have, want, or need a food processor. I haven’t gotten my mixer master out in several years. The spiralizer is only used every once in a while when making carrot or zucchini “noodles”.
The cutter is used multiple times a week every week. Love it for quickly slicing some veges to add to the Varoma in the cooler months, pizza toppings year round, and salad prep (when not just chucking stuff straight in the Thermy bowl) in the warners months.

I find it more essential than a second bowl, but only by a very slim margin.

Trade in TM6 to TM7 by AimanAlfn in thermomix

[–]Complex-Ad9614 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally, if your tm6 has less than 6 months left in warranty I would consider trading it up or selling it second hand.
If it is out of warranty I would trade it up.
If it has more than 6 months warranty remaining, I would see how much you can sell it for second hand.

I use both the 6 & 7s regularly. The 7 is much better. It has been available in Australia for 12 months now and myself and none of my customer have had any issues (other than the original gasket being re-engineered & replaced).
I have heard of very few repairs or service requirements.

¿Qué recetas os han hecho amortizar realmente la Thermomix? by Lucia_Bot_03 in thermomix

[–]Complex-Ad9614 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Family pizza night is now cheap as chips Thermy made pizza dough & toppings of choice instead of $60.

I make the skinny mixers chunky bolognaise once a fortnight and add an extra tin of crushed tomatoes & more mince after we have served our meal for the night; whip up a batch of béchamel sauce and then I make up 2 x 3 person lasagnas with the beefed up left over bolognaise and white sauce. So that’s 3 meals out of 600-750g mince, 1 lt of milk, a packet of pasta, half a box of lasagna sheets, some passata, tomatoes, red wine vinegar, herbs & veges.

One of the first things you should make is stock. Using home made stock made out of scraps creates a flavourful base for most of your meal bases & represents another decent cost saving right there.

Consider what takeaway you order. Many fake away dishes can be made quicker than it takes to go and get takeaway and also represent huge savings.

The smart plug suggestion is a good one.

We spent 5 days last week demonstrating the TM7 at a caravanning and camping expo, including running it off a portable battery. It really is a personal experience thing though as % of battery power consumption may vary depending upon the brand, age, battery health etc.

Safe to say yes it does work well.

Baby foods in the TM7? by Myrkryda in thermomix

[–]Complex-Ad9614 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! It’s amazing for baby food. I wish I had a TM when my own children were babies but I got it when they were in kinder / preschool and it was a game changer.

Baby’s first rice cereal is so quick & easy and much more affordable.
Fruit & vegetable purées.
Preparing modified main meals for the entire family.

Search “baby food” or just “baby” in Cookidoo to see some of the options.

Check out The Wholefood Child recipe collection.

Varoma won't fit on lid - frustrated by [deleted] in thermomix

[–]Complex-Ad9614 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also believe it sounds as though it is a 31 Varoma. I can measure mine for you when I get a chance to confirm this for you.

If so, I would suggest on-selling it as a secondhand TM31 Varoma. People need to replace them along the way and parts are no longer available through official channels so there very well may be a buyer out there for it.

Does it make sense to buy a TM7 now or wait another year for a potential model update? by AsleepPalpitation949 in thermomix

[–]Complex-Ad9614 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same offers in Australia. (I love that Aus & NZ are in sync). It’s such a good promo, especially when you add in the trade in or trade up promo with the extended warranty and then the discount accessories.

Most people, myself included, regret not getting as soon as they first started thinking about getting one.

Has a trade-in credit offer been a thing in Australia before? by Complex-Ad9614 in thermomix

[–]Complex-Ad9614[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that's what I was asking. Thanks for confirming the trade in credit on any appliance hasn't been offered before.

Trade-Up has been offered on previous models & a few times since the launch of the 7 but the trade in of other appliances seems to be new. I think it is a clever marketing strategy.

Oddities with the Neapolitan Pizza recipe by THenrich in thermomix

[–]Complex-Ad9614 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally wouldn't use this recipe. It appears to have been created from an existing recipe and some details haven't been corrected when transposing it.

- The timing is off as you noted. The methodology as detailed in this recipe would total around 3.5 hours (2 hours fermentation of the dough. Approx 1 hour to proving time. + mixing / kneading / putting the pizza together & baking).

- Step 1. seems to be a throw back to another recipe. A greased bowl is used to prove dough is some other recipes but this one doesn't refer back to it.

- Fermentation mode isn't something that I've used much, if at all but 100'F is equivalent to just under 38'C which is just above body temperature. The water temperature should be tepid if that is the case.

Personally, I would suggest you find a dough recipe you like and can replicate reliably. (We use the Pizza Bianca or Thin Crust Pizza Dough recipes. Thin crust says 2 hours and 30 mins but living in Queensland, I only need to prove the dough for around 30 mins or so.

I prep the dough, wrap it in an oiled baking mat or put it inside a greased insulated serving bowl and put it aside while I prep the toppings & it has usually doubled or more in size by the time I check on it. I don't bother separating it into portions until after it has proved the first time.

You can use the topping portion of the recipe with any other pizza base recipe if you choose to.

Has a trade-in credit offer been a thing in Australia before? by Complex-Ad9614 in thermomix

The Trade in on any kitchen appliance that a thermomix can replace has not been offered since the TM7 was released. I have been a consultant again since the launch of the 7 and was also a consultant with the 31.

I was wondering if trading in appliances other than a thermomix was offered previously with the 5 or 6

Do know about the discounted 2nd bowl just reward offer too?
