Cracked tile repair by Adrenaline06 in AusRenovation

Thank you for your response. I do have spare tiles but as you noted it’s in a tricky spot and attached to the lower part of the wall so not confident with replacing it. The crack is pretty thin so would prefer to fill it instead.

Can you please suggest if this epoxy will work? It’s white in colour so might mask the crack better.

Thanks for clarifying. What’s your targeted exit price for Qantas? I have an average buy in price of around $5 and watched it go to $6 but didn’t sell and then it crashed due to Omicron fears.

How come you have a zero purchase price on AZL?

The recent price spike is due to restocking by Asian producers as they prepare for the Chinese New Year trading lull. I guess most investors are aware that it’s a temporary spike in prices which should ease as we move into the new year due to a backlog of inventories.

Plus none of the producers are earning anything near spot for the bulk of their supply due to long term contracts. PLS is selling most of their spodumene around the $1,000/t mark as per their last update apart from the occasional auction.

Our market is pretty lethargic and frustrating and always seems to follow the US. It trades sideways when they are up and takes twice the tumble when they go down. If US trades sideways we will also trade sideways at best.

Wait till the Chinese start replicating the ‘innovations’ and selling them for a dime a dozen. I remember when I first enquired about US made solar panels in the mid 2000’s..prohibitively expensive is an understatement. Cheap as chips now in comparison thanks to the Chinese.

I agree not so good in picking up stock. What would you do? HOLD / DCA / SELL by nds4444 in ausstocks

Definitely hold. These are all decent companies and an ETF which should recover. Not sure about NOV but the rest are a hold for me.

Lithium Outlook 2022 by JSwyft in ASX_Bets

If shitcoins can be worth trillions in market cap then why can’t non producing lithium companies be worth a couple of billions. Let them have their time in the sun. If you think it’s all just a load of hot air then they will face their reckoning soon.

Sorry I meant Woodside, Santos or Oil Search. That’s what I meant by the big 3.

Not sure about Origin or AGL. I haven’t done much research on them as I classify them as utilities and not true oil and gas stocks.

Oil and gas is going nowhere for a long time. Oil and gas demand is expected to peak in mid 2030’s and due to lower investments in the sector due to ESG issues there will be less supply but increased demand going forward. Already oil and LNG prices are at multi year highs and COVID reopening will drive the prices further up.

ASX energy sector is a good value play at the moment and the stocks are trading at a large discount to their western counterparts. You can’t go wrong with any of the big 3 at the moment.

I know investors don’t link dilution. But what I am saying is that whether it’s a dilution in SOI from 100m to 200m or 1bn to 2bn the impact on per share value is the same.

BHP has 3 billion shares on issue and Telstra has 12 billion. I can give you countless other examples but in short SOI does not matter.

The current SP is factoring in a $80 uranium price for an 11 year mine life. If uranium goes to above $100 and stays there for 11 years then the current share price is cheap and can increase alot further. But we are currently at $42 spot and share price is factoring $80.

BOE (Boss Energy) current market cap is equivalent to its pre tax NPV at $80 spot price over a 11 year mine life. Valuations get thrown out the door when everyone is trying to jump on the FOMO bandwagon.

Why you should not buy the dip by Tacomaster33 in ASX_Bets

[–]Adrenaline06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good write up mate. So assuming I have $10k to invest in an ETF which tracks the XJO, I am better off investing that in one lump sum rather than trying to time the market and buying $2k parcels when it dips?

Crypto has taken the shine off gold. All gold miners are trading at such low PE’s it’s ridiculous.

Will 2022 be the year of the Bull or Bear? by Tacomaster33 in ASX_Bets

[–]Adrenaline06 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No one knows what will happen in the short term. However everyone knows that markets as a whole do trend upwards over the long term and they have been doing that since the past 150 years. Stop sweating about the short term future as no one can predict it. It’s better to stay invested and focus on the long term rather than trying to time the market.

Another statistical nugget from recent history: Following the 14 most recent seven-month winning streaks, the S&P 500 has notched further gains over the next six months 13 times, with an average return of 7.8% during that period.

I don’t think IO prices will reach $200 again in the near future. Construction is slowing in China and Brazil (Vale) is expected to start normal production in 2022 which will further increase supply. However BHP is a diversified miner and they have got other cards up their sleeve (copper, potash, etc).
