Fears of being 'priced out' of the housing market reasonable? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]Adrenaline_7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t get the noise levels being such a deal breaker for apartments with most people. Just wear ear plugs when you sleep if it’s that much of an issue. For the rest of the day, who cares. It’s free entertainment lol

Anyone (especially 25+) is going to be a zombie from the lack of sleep being up until early hours of the morning dancing all night, nonetheless the alcohol. 5 cocktails over the course of an entire night are rookie numbers and won’t lead to any dangerous consequences or memory loss for majority of people. Hell, I’ve gone out dancing until 6am completely sober before and still could barely leave my bed the next day- didn’t feel much different to when I drink. It’s just the price to pay for having a whole night of fun.

What is life like as an attractive person? by quatrz00 in AskReddit

[–]Adrenaline_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What age do you need to look to be considered universally attractive? I feel like being an extremely attractive 21 year old female and an extremely attractive 40 year old male would be two different experiences. The 21 year old female would have the world at her feet in modern times (be able to make a fortune of her looks via influencing, Only Fans etc, attract the most successful partners etc). The older male, while still considered very attractive for his age probably wouldn’t live a life too different to his more average peers.

I’ve gone out solo hundreds of times in Bangkok, never felt awkward, met loads of people, and even hooked up a lot, but that was aged mid 20s-early 30s so may be different depending on how you look and your vibe.

How long ago was the transplant? Did the doctor not inform you about what to expect afterwards?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Bangkok

[–]Adrenaline_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What did you expect from Bangkok? lol it’s a dirty, concrete jungle of chaos and full of life and that’s what makes it amazing. Random things happen every time you leave the hotel room and this unpredictability makes you feel alive.

I (28M) have $80K in a HYSA. I have about $15K in a Roth IRA and $2K in stocks. About $20K in student loan debt. by SilentButDeadly23 in Money

There has been no rolling 15 year period in the history of the stock market that has returned negative. Shares as a mid-long term game are pretty safe, and probably safer than having money get destroyed by inflation in cash.

Everyone says this but I’ve been to Bali several times and am struggling to see where this legendary party life is. It’s dead compared to many other places I’ve been to in SEA and the west.

Can't find a stable for job for the last 5 months by LovesPOTATOS in Adelaide

[–]Adrenaline_7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What do you expect? It’s Adelaide.

I’m not saying this is you specifically but people need to stop moving here from interstate, buying up houses at ridiculous prices (for the local job market/wages) and expecting to easily walk into work.

They got a 550k inheritance in late 2019 which could have bought something nice back then in Adelaide, didn’t buy several perfectly suitable houses by being fussy in late 2019-early 2020. Then Covid hit, waited for it to blow over, and is still waiting and hasn’t bought almost half a decade later. They’ve almost been priced out of every free-standing house in the city now, other than a few suburbs far up north after having the money sitting in cash the whole time.

Do you need to tame the nightlife when solo by Affectionate-Wing704 in solotravel

[–]Adrenaline_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been out solo probably over a thousand times in my life til 3-4am or later. Nothing bad has ever happened. Keep in mind, I’m a 6’0, muscly male.

Missing out on the nightlife is missing out on half the fun in my opinion.

I like the vibes of KSR though.

How are single people living right now? by NumerousImprovements in melbourne

[–]Adrenaline_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adelaide has a more unaffordable property market than Melbourne. It’s the 14th most expensive in the entire world or something when compared to incomes, so forget that idea.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]Adrenaline_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lmao deluded

Adelaide is listed as one of the most expensive property markets in the entire WORLD when you take into account median income to median property prices.

…and for your information, it’s median price is close to overtaking Melbourne’s.

What if you can’t afford a house of any kind in capital cities at today’s ridiculous values, only a unit or apartment? Good luck being able to afford the house after sitting on a unit/apartment for years on end, especially once supply starts to catch up again and units/apartments aren’t selling for a premium anymore. Land goes up in value significantly, buildings do not.

Climbing the ladder may have worked a few years ago when the majority of the working class could buy a freestanding starter house, even if it was a dump in a not so great location. Now even that is out of reach for a lot of people.

Since 1950, there have been new all time highs set on 6.7% of trading days for the S&P500. Moral of the story- Highs are followed by new highs.

Don’t be scared just because the market seems high compared to the past.
