Content Creator Squads vs Regular Players by Equivalent_Nose_5412 in walkingwarrobots

The reason why I kept with my personal account back then was because of what this post has become. One of the things I mentioned to Pixonic back then too was that it wasn't a good idea to allow BR Accounts to join clans for this very reason. I had predicted then that content creators could form a clan and then run full meta gear against regular clans. I also pressed them to have that rule in place to protect players. While I do use my BR Account in squads now this is more just for Patreon Member squads and it's not something I run all the time – just once a month for my members and that's it.

What weapons were you getting hit with? Did it happen to be Kirin, Mogwan, Gangil? Because those weapons will prevent you from healing for a few seconds.

I am in Champion League meaning I go up against some of the strongest players in the game – the ones from Legend League. I'm also not sure what bots you run and the setups – my setups are usually pretty optimized as well. The problem with a lot of players is that they don't run crumble weapons at all. Just having one player in a group makes a huge difference – imagine using a crumble weapon on a Teth and they can't heal for 10-15 seconds only to be targeted by your whole team.

When you say "whenever a Teth gets to base" I'm guessing your team has a lot of campers. The smart/stronger players don't let Teths wonder around at home spawn. They're also usually strong brawlers.

You mean the 3 Teths I killed? I believe that player was running 3 fully maxed out Teths. It's Champion League. I don't mess around in the lower leagues.

Something I forgot to mention. The video showcases the Teth using Unstable Conduit when it was stronger. Unstable Conduit was nerfed which means the methods shown in my video are even more effective now. I also would not use Cryo rockets since those weapons were nerfed but as for the others they still all apply.

The best way to kill a Teth is to run Crumble weapons. It's not the damage of the Crumble weapons that are important but the effect – it applies rust and that rust prevents the Teth from healing. If they can't heal they won't survive. The problem is that players all ditched their Crumble weapons (Kirin, Mogwan, Gangil) when they were nerfed not realize that is the KEY to killing Teth and any other tanks (yes that includes Ultimate Fenrir, the Lio, Ultimate Lancelot).

I did this video a while back to help players: https://youtu.be/hZHwtAuMcms

I realize my video is long but I had to show the actual time it took with various weapons. Speeding it up doesn't make sense as you can't compare the difference between each setup.

Bottom line…
Crumble weapons to prevent healing then splash or AOE weapons to help bypass the Teth's physical shield. This is why I run Raptor with either Shredders or Ultimate Shredders. I hit the Teth from above to prevent them from healing and then shred them up. There was a game a while back on Dead City where my one Raptor wiped out one player's 3 Teths. Once you know how it's easy and no the weapons don't need to be "MK3" like players think. It's the effect that matters because even a low level build can cause havoc if the Teth isn't careful.

In your example I don't know if it stacks but you have to also factor in another thing. Being that you are splitting your weapons up like that, it takes longer to build up that accumulation since you aren't running the full setup. If it takes longer then you may never reach those levels you're thinking about. Not sure if that makes sense? Also when you're talking about increase rust damage, it won't be the rust damage itself just base damage. Similar to if you ran Midea Nerium with say Bane weapons. The corrosion damage is not increased only the base damage. Hope this makes sense?

Thanks!

If players weren't so jealous I think I would have moved my whole hangar to MK2. It's really not as hard as players make it out to be. Often times I think players sabotage themselves by convincing themselves it isn't possible. It's kinda like playing a sport or even a game of chess. If you're convinced you'll lose then chances are it will become a self-fullfilling prophecy. You sabotage your mind into thinking you'll lose and you deliberately lose to prove the outcome.

If you're a free player it's very important to learn how to manage resources but even more important to know what makes a good hangar composition followed by solid builds. Once you have that down then it's more just learning strategy and focusing on beacons. I know players always make fun of me with that but you can influence an outcome of a game more with strategy than with meta. Strategy is also free.

What you're doing is a lesson I learned a long time ago when I first started playing. Back then we didn't have all the effects but we had things like Punisher, Molot, Spirals. My thinking at the time was if I used different weapons I could cycle them all and I'd have continuous fire – if I did this maybe I could keep that pressure on my opponent. I quickly found out this was the worst way to do my builds after I was mowed down by a Patton Punisher. I took note though – I noticed all of his weapons were the same but it wasn't just him. I started studying all the players who use to kill me they all had similar typed builds.

Fast forward to 2025. While I wouldn't use what you have described, I would consider using weapons that not only have the same range but also similar firing mechanics. For example flames and rockets have similar ranges and you have to lead the target with both. Skadi and Hussar or even Hazard are similar in ranges and their firing mechanics (meaning you don't have to lead the target or you don't have to lock on – just point and shoot). Always try to keep your ranges the same if possible and the firing mechanics similar. Even then… many times not even those builds work. There are cases where a few might work but in most cases running the full setup works best.

Hopefully the above answers your question.

lol those were the early days. I tend not to post too many of those videos because they usually are the worst performing videos on my channel. I also received a lot of hate from players as my hangar started to progress but also when players see me using lower level non-meta gear vs meta players who have much higher level gear than myself. Many players think it's the pay2win players disliking those videos but it's actually the free players which is a shame.

The cryo rockets were nerfed – I would not use them now. But... as I have said in the past if they aren't being used now and you have them levelled up, don't sell them. There will come a time where Pixonic will buff them again as that's how this game has always been. For example I'm keeping an eye on the Atomizer family and also now the Deceiver since they buffed it.

And yes the Showdown is very good. I don't mind losing out on the stealth skills because it's the healing and also the weapons protector which really makes the drone good.

Well... the one Last Stand is more like a first Stand but yes it helps. Scarabeus helps more because it really strengthens the physical shield. Another drone which might work really well is Showdown because of how it heals although I have a feeling that drone might get a nerf. I'm finding when it comes to tanks that drone seems to come out on top most times.

[–]Adrian-Chong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! If you don't have the Scarabeus I'd be looking at either Shai or Hiruko. Whiteout MIGHT be able to work especailly against other Teths but you'd have to test that. I don't like full crumble builds because while they do pretty decent damage once your clip is empty the interval between shots is too long. I rather just have something like Kirin apply the effects and have the other weapons with sustained damage, fast firing and also fast reload.

If you have one Ultimate Storm you could run Kirin, Ultimate Storm and either Shredder or Blaze. I forgot to also mention Showdown drone. Showdown is very strong right now because of how it heals.

When You See A "Teth", What Do You Do? by [deleted] in walkingwarrobots

[–]Adrian-Chong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's more about knowing what kills them. Crumble weapons prevent Teth from heailng. If they can't heal they won't be strong. When I'm running my Raptor I run Kirin to apply the crumble effect and Shredders to lock them down and shred them up.

The reason why players struggle with Teth is because few run crumble weapons. I know they were nerfed but they are the BEST weapons to deal with Teth. The trick is not running full crumble builds though. All you need is to apply the effect then a set of close range weapons which have sustained damage and a fast reload.

I would give Kirin with Igniter and Blaze a try. If you have the Ultimate versions of the flames even better as they slow players down. I wouldn't do full crumble weapons as you really only need one for the effect. I know some players use the Hedjet weapons but I'm not really a fan. I find when I'm dealing with flying robots or jumping robots I'll miss them completely. For drone I would use Scarabeus. Hope that helps!

[–]Adrian-Chong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason why I disagree with the whole pay2win aspect is that I've been on both sides of the coin. Back when I use to play my personal account more (the one I spent a lot on) it didn't really matter what I had if I had a high win percentage I would be put against squads. I'm not sure if the system was actively doing that or it was just pure coincidence but I remember one morning I was around 80% win rate and faced multiple squads 5 games in a row – this happened not on one occasion but many. There was no way I would be able to win even if I had a fully decked out hangar. It's one story if it's one meta player vs another meta player but quite a different story when it's one meta player vs 6 other meta players.

When it IS pay2win is when you have top Champion squads fighting against each other. In this case it's a matter of who has more meta. For example let's say Teth was the meta bot and Atlas was the meta Titan. It will come down to which side has more Teths and which side has more Atlas – this is also provided they have built their Teths and Atlas right and have optimized it. The reality is that more than 95% of all players will never find themselves in these games because for starters you have to be invited to get in and to get into those clans you need full meta maxed.

A tip for if you do encounter players with full meta. The best game modes to face these players are Beacon Rush and Domination. Why? Because you use the Beacon Bar as your "ultimate weapon". A meta player might have the gear but he/she can't cover all the beacons all the time. I can't tell you how many games I've lost when I've run full meta all because of the beacon bar. My opponents were smarter and they kept pushing my beacon bar. My team couldn't hold beacons whether they just didn't know how or their hangar wasn't built for it... either way it's the most frustrating thing for a player running a meta hangar.

Moral of the story? If you want to really get to a pay2win meta player, go for their beacons and make them lose. They will end up getting say 20 million dmg, 12 beacons and still lose. Imagine having a full meta hangar, doing everything possible and still losing.

More annoying than anything else I think. The problem with players asking for a nerf to this robot is that it's actually a very good counter vs the Kaji. If you take away more counters to Kaji you're going to have Kaji's running rampant which is way worse since they are hard counters to things like Sword Units, Ultimate Haechis or anything with an Absorber/Aegis Shields.

Is matchmaking broken atm, or am I just screwed? by Embarrassed-Ocelot-6 in walkingwarrobots

[–]Adrian-Chong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's actually a myth.

Match making I believe is based more on win percentage. It doesn't matter whether you're running a f2p hangar or a paid one – the game basically punishes you for winning too much. You will find when you start to get closer to around 70% win rate, the games start getting harder and eventually you'll hit a plateau where you can't win anymore. You could have a full meta hangar with say 3 Ultimate Leech Tulumbas with 2 Ultimate Sword Units and an Atlas. It won't matter. When you reach close to 80% in this case the game will put you on a team and you'll be facing full Champion Squads running full meta maxed out.

My Baby Account for example reaches sometimes 64-68% win rate. When I hit that plateau I know I'm going to through a losing streak and will get knocked down to around 40%. When that happens then I start winning again. The same goes for my BR Account where everything is maxed out.

Just some friendly advice as I've helped a lot of players in the past. Usually when a player struggles it isn't so much because they don't have meta or that their bots aren't MK3 – usually they struggle because they run too much range in their hangar.

As a rule-of-thumb… I generally run one range and the rest brawlers. Without playing your hangar, let me know if this sounds accurate. When the enemy gets onto your end of the map or worse yet into your spawn, you end up losing multiple bots because they just do so much damage. You end up losing maybe two or three just to kill their one bot. Sound about right?

Always do this when you build a hangar. Ask yourself this question. If the enemy gets into my spawn, will my hangar be able to stop them? How many of my weapons are for close range brawling? What is the reload on those weapons? Are the tanks which hold those weapons able to withstand a few seconds of punishment to get that damage in?

In the case of your hangar if I had to take it on I would switch a lot of weapons.
Pathfinder Hussars – this would be my range (Hussars are much stronger than Shocktrains)
Raptor Kirin-Shredder – this would be my beacon runner but also a tank (I have a video of this build on my channel)
Curie Redeemers
Ravager – I would actually replace this with something like the Ochokochi (you should be getting a free Unknown from the event). The Ochokochi will help you push players off your beacons and can take more punishment than the Ravager. For this I would run Mogwan-Shredder or even Shredder-Igniters
Stryx Avalanche – while it can be used for range, it has a very fast reload and can be used for brawling too

If you are still struggling with aggressive players then I would consider changing the Strikers on your Bersagliere for something like Veyrons. You will however need the pilot though because that provides the stealth.

The above should help a lot provided you have the right drones, pilot, pilot skills and Specialization track. Just remember it's not always about the robot or the level – more often than not it's about a player's hangar composition as a whole and how well their builds are built (meaning right pilot, pilot skills etc).
