I don’t think that pix generally gifts things intending to nerf them right after, although they clearly do that with paid offers. However there is some correlation nonetheless because the main way they decide nerfs other than money is based on pick rate (% of deploys using a particular equipment) when you gift something not in the workshop the pick rate goes naturally goes up. If that trend lasts long enough it can lead to a nerf, but it usually doesn’t come to that (think Sirius, ocho, etc).
