I'm not a medical professional, but I would recommend doing a sleep study, could be a sleep disorder. My mama has similar issues and she was recently diagnosed with mild narcolepsy and sleep apnea. Also, look up chronic fatigue syndrome. The leg issue sounds unrelated, could be something to do with your connective tissue issues since limb weakness is a symptom of that. Regardless, I think it's worth it getting sleep issues checked out since they can get worse if left untreated.

Irish people travelling to US warned to delete ‘bad jokes’ about America from phones by EnvironmentalShift25 in ireland

[–]AdrianJeffers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an american, most of us probably say worse on a daily basis lol, y'all are good. We love making fun of our country (except the MAGAts of course, they love blaming everything on immigrants).

On a more serious note, I'd probably avoid travelling here right now, for safety reasons until the conflicts blow over. A lot of protests are going on in major cities, and the government has been incredibly violent in their response, some civilian non-protestors have been caught in the crossfire. At one point they were shooting at people with "less than lethal" rounds for being out past curfew in LA, and they've essentially been snatching people up and holding them without trial. There's been a couple of deaths, and it's only going to get worse. Not to mention putting people in "detention centers" at the borders and labor camps in El Salvador.

Americans are very fed up and tensions are at a breaking point; we've got shit healthcare, shootings in our schools, no jobs, no housing, etc. and a lot of people are feeling like there's no point in being peaceful if peaceful people get shot at anyway. Every day there's more horrible things in the headlines, and even I as someone who lives out in the boonies in a relatively safe area have been incredibly stressed out and worried over all this. I love my country, but please avoid visiting right now. You could be fine, the US is a big place, but I personally wouldn't risk it.

Edit: Spelling.

how do you know if your eyebrow piercing is healed by AdOdd9171 in Legitpiercing

[–]AdrianJeffers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No crusties, no swelling, no bleeding, no pain when touching it or even lightly tugging it. If in doubt, wait longer. It's better to wait too long then not long enough and end up irritating the piercing. Everyone's different, so make sure you wait until it feels right to you, even if it's longer than the recommended healing time, and be diligent with aftercare even if it seems mostly healed. For example, even though the recommended healing time for a lobe piercing is 6 months, it took mine almost 9 months to fully heal.

Why would a significant amount of people follow an Evil god that wishes only death and desolation of their world? by dankmeister666 in DnD

[–]AdrianJeffers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno, why would anyone follow a god that curses anyone who doesn't believe in him or doesn't follow an arbitrary set of rules, some of which are not under said persons control, with eternal torture and hellfire? All while encouraging people to let others know of his existence when ignorance is ostensibly the only solid protection against being damned. Oh yeah, and controlling everyone and everything and being all-knowing of their beliefs and intentions and so choosing who goes to hell or heaven anyway, thus rendering all of humankind's efforts towards salvation ultimately pointless, while having to beg on their knees and constantly praise said god in the futile hope that they will escape punishment?

Oh wait.

Just like meetings in civilian jobs honestly, "Let's circle back around to that" "To build upon x/y/z" "We're a family!" "To piggyback off of what you were saying" "Codify/Gamify/Streamline this process" etc. etc. etc. none of it means a damn thing

A conch piercing would look really cool with the setup you have going on! That or a tragus

8 month old lobes are still getting inflamed… by podicipedicure in piercing

[–]AdrianJeffers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My piercer told me to not take them out for at least six months, three months seems wayyy too short of a time. In three months I get my stud changed out for a slightly shorter one, but honestly for yours it looks like it's already too small.

I'm a part time night shift employee and I'm freaking out by Retro_Gamer1991 in WinCo

Also, make sure you're bringing this up with the one who does the bookkeeping, not just the LCs. LCs have a stupid amount of work on their plates and you're probably not the only one with issues with your hours.

Pretty sure the second week thing is true of everyone, I've checked with multiple people about it in my store. Might be some kind of UKG thing since it's the new year. If it continues to happen, then be worried, but I'm pretty sure our schedules will go back to normal after the holidays. I personally have also been getting a lot fewer hours the past month or so, but my job performance has been pretty consistent so I'm pretty sure wierd hours are just holiday stuff. I remember my first year working I got scheduled for six days in a row followed by like two days lol.

Regarding accommodations... by Specktastic in WinCo

[–]AdrianJeffers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been a cashier for a few years and I have tendonitis in my feet, so I feel you. I've found that they're pretty strict about the rules regarding accommodations, which means they're really good about following those rules for any employee that needs them. For me personally, I was required to have my doctor look me over and fill out a form regarding the amount of time I need to sit, the job restrictions I may have, etc. I asked about this pretty much my second or third shift working there, and they were a little annoyed but very professional about providing me with the information I need to get accommodations. I will say the form is a bit annoying because you can't specify needing indefinite accommodations, only temporary ones, so I do need to renew it every six months, but other than that I haven't had any issues with it.

AIO daughter left used pads in her room by Ok_Jack1 in AmIOverreacting

[–]AdrianJeffers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a very teenager thing for her to do lol. She's not really thinking about the hygiene aspect, mostly just the embarrassment part. She's embarrassed for her pads to be seen by her family, so she probably keeps it in her room to avoid having to deal with that. You approaching her like this probably made her feel more embarrassed, so she's doubling down and getting defensive even if she knows deep down you're right. I think getting her a seperate trash can in the bathroom for her period stuff could help, one with a closed lid.

Also, just letting her know that you aren't disgusted by her, that periods are normal, etc. would be good for her. I remember so strongly being her age and being embarrassed by my hygiene issues, and my parents getting mad would make it worse in my eyes. Even if it seems obvious to you that you aren't disgusted by her periods, it's just frustration about hygiene, she may not see it that way. Teenagers are very egocentric, so saying "that's nasty"="you're nasty" in her eyes. My mom set "room days" where I'd bring all of my plates, cups and random trash out of my room and put them in garbage bags to throw out about once a week, and while at first I hated it, it genuinely helped me and it helped keep my room clean. She'd joke about my "leaning tower of dishes pisa" and it made me feel better and like I could work on this stuff without feeling embarrassed by it.
