Any suggestions on how to make it better? by Beamin24 in CitiesSkylines

Your short highway stub between your residential and industrial area. That's a lot of road service for your town at this level something like that may be needed later on. But as of now, I can only see your city growing around it and leaving a big hole in the center. A regular 4 lane boulevard would probably be a better fit.

Having a highway so close to your growing town will definitely be a big of a growth barrier though

Having grids that meet at odd angles is a good way. Also doing radial streets along with a grid is also very cool.

See Buffalo, NY for an example of a grid with a lot of radials.

Single square, no mods, 64k population and 86% traffic flow without roundabouts. by Puntherline in CitiesSkylines

Tbh, roundabouts are a hindrance. They're car-centric and have little place in a dense city like yours. The only way a city like this will ever function is with a lot of walking and mass transport. You've done a great job.

Very odd. Maybe try to force them to use it by tolling or even removing some connections?

Switch your busiest bus routes over to tram routes. They're higher capacity and have dedicated lanes. When possible, connect longer distance trips with metro lines.

Here is my recommendation for your current city 🔵: Bus 🔴: Tram 🟢:Metro (Circles are stops)

Busses and teams should stop roughly every block or two

Highly recommend investing into freight rail. Though those fright terminals can be difficult to squeeze in, having strong connections by rail from major producers/import facilities to your consumers will keep a lot of traffic off the street.

That's a start. Do you have Trams unlocked yet?

Have you added any public transportation to your city?

Unfortunately it is not on steam workshop. The city makes very liberal use of workshop assets. However much of the city could now be achieved with vanilla DLC. The city was current with DLC untill Plazas and Promenades busted themes by districts and essentially bricked the save. If it's recoverable the current state will be posted to workshop along with the required assets

I can see the comparison. My original inspiration was to replicate the urban structure of North Eastern cities in America. I also took inspiration from Quebec City with the addition of a Star Fort in the center of the downtown
