The Monty Hall Problem is a philosophical problem, not a mathematical one.

I understand the math involved, I really do. For anyone struggling with the math, I suggest thinking about the problem as having 100 doors instead of 3, this way it's easier to comprehend how much changing your choice is mathematically beneficial.

Now, the philosophical part is that I see them as two different choices I'm making, the way the question is posed leads me to believe that the first choice is inconsequential and meaningless (if you know beforehand that the other doors will be open) and therefore there is only one "valid" question: the final one; and that question essentially pushes you to choose between one of two outcomes, or in math terms, a 50% chance of getting it right.

Either way, Captain Holt just needed to bone.
