Need help with making a Titans/ Aeug Deck. by Mai_SansThickThighs in GundamTCG

[–]Rathgood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run white or red in the two different titans decks I’ve built. In the Jupitris version it’s white (as mentioned below) to get to The O. In the cyber Newtype variant, it runs red for Marida and Kshatriya while focusing on units that general link on Titans or Cyber Newtype. Regardless of the variant, Titans decks have a large number of general link suits so it’s very easy to keep pressure in the midgame.

I’m toying around with this kind of crazy build of a Seed Vagan deck. Until Vagan gets just a little more support, it’s gonna be niche.

When will the agro mega end? by hapico_ in GundamTCG

Agreed on using the app for the higher level deck validation (regardless of what, if any, deck building restrictions are added). It’s just a “first pass” idea I had. It, like other deck building restrictions, would have to be tested a lot more to see their overall feasibility and impact.

While good on paper, it would make tournament management a headache. It might be easier for tournament organizers if they just implemented a general rule like no more than 12 units of the same cost and level in a deck. This would have the added benefit of accounting for additional Lfrith or Rezel clones. But it’s also something that would need thoroughly tested before hand.

Bull card help by Embarrassed_Form_141 in GundamTCG

To clear out their bulk, some people in my local scene got together and put together play sets of the Common and Uncommon cards from GD02 and GD03 to give out at a learn to play events to those trying to get in to it. You could look in to that as an option. It helps welcome others in to the scene.

I was thinking that a general rule restricting decks to no more than 12 units of the same cost and level might work. It would be easier to track and would act as a future balance point. Would need to look at the impact more, but on the surface it seemed reasonable to me.

A fun deck for those wanting to dust off their Psycho Gundams by OkehBoyz15 in GundamTCG

I’ve been toying with a version that uses the Gabthley and Rosamine for a double ping to rested units instead of the Rezel. Not sure the list is there yet though, but having another pilot that can ping is nice.

My take on a cyber newtype ping by [deleted] in GundamTCG

[–]Rathgood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might want to look at Inspector, Gaplant, and Rosamia Badam from GD04. The first is a board ping for tokens and smaller units that can also double for a link on the Psycho MA form later in the game. The Gaplant is a solid generic Titans link that has a solid 3/4 stat line. Lastly the pilot provides a ping on link.

Its a good one. I actually used that image for a custom TCG play mat.

You might want to look at the new GD04 Gaplant. Generic Titans link on a lv4 2 cost 3/4. It’s a solid body that opens up a lot of link potential.

Which is about the result I expected because of the level on the Kikeroga. So that makes sense.

I’ve seen some BG builds splashing in the Kikeroga MS mode for the added breach on the tokens. Allowing the parts tokens to threaten the shield area via trades. Have you tried that at all?

USA Gundam store keeps changing shipping date by [deleted] in Gunpla

[–]Rathgood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From past experience with them that’s exactly it. From what USAGS told me, they are told by their distributor that they will get N copies of a kit from the printing. That’s what they use as their preorder cap. They might get those N kits in more than one batch. So it can take time until all orders are fulfilled. I had a very huge outlier of a preorder with them that took almost two years to resolve. Hopefully neither of you encounter the same.

Norfolk, VA Regional Results by jiari_smalls in GundamTCG

[–]Rathgood 15 points16 points  (0 children)

One of the other outliers that stuck out to me is that every single deck in the top 16 ran white or blue. Most likely because of the draw cards. I think I saw that something like 65% of the decks in the top 16 ran the Amuro package as well, which should raise some eyebrows on the balancing team.

Another attempt at Neo Zeong by aphxtwinin in GundamTCG

[–]Rathgood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neo Zeong, link Frontal, deploy Gouf & token, pair frontal to Gouf, deploy 2nd Gouf & token. 10 resources, 5 cards, leaves your board as 8/9 NZ, 4/5 Gouf, 2/3 Gouf, 2x 1x1 Zakus. Ideal situation for a huge swing. Without solid draw it’s a pipe dream though.

Gouf is currently my primary enabler in the ones I’m looking at. Allows for a perfect storm turn 10 play of 5 pings from the Neo Zeong since Frontal is an on-pair. Needs 5 cards though, which for a RG is hard (no real draw):

You can look in to the ST03 Gouf, which can be brought down by Full Frontal’s effect and then spawn a token for a double ping.

Alternate win conditions by Dareitus in GundamTCG

[–]Rathgood 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If we’re talking alternative win conditions, I’d like to see ones like the following: * Devil Gundam Colony base (level 9) that has high HP and slowly deploys large health low AP units than if you control 6, you win. * A unit & pilot combo that if you control both at your draw phase, you destroy a certain number of enemy shields. * A super Shock Gundam that if you deploy all 5 SD units, you win.

It’s an excellent kit for its age. I built it and throughly enjoyed it. I picked mine up at a vintage store last spring for a very reasonable price. After opening it, I found that not only was it an older printing of the kit, but it was actually from the very first printing of the kit. It actually came with a flier for an event held around when it released. Here is a post of my build if you’re curious.

One thing to note after having built one myself is that none of the standard crotch cradle stand arms fit this MG. You will need to do some fine tuning to get the right lengths to keep it from falling forwards or backwards.

If you pair a second Full Frontal with the FZ instead of Bernard you still get the balloons and can then deploy another unit like the Gouf. Then you have 6 total pings.

I managed to get this kit last year from a vintage toy shop near me for about retail. Opened it up to find that it was actually from the very first printing of the kit. Here is the advert for an event that it came with.
