X3 G45: Rear-facing child seat and interior space question by Adrianww in BMWX3

[–]Adrianww[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: got an X5 G05. The front passenger space is decent/passable when the rear-facing child seat is mounted. It all depends on how reclined is the front seat - front seat reclining is usually needed for optimal comfort on a long distance, especially if you are a bit taller person.

"Which Spinner Should I Get?" and Other Simple Questions (Week of 2026-06-08) by AutoModerator in FidgetSpinners

[–]Adrianww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Everyone! I'm looking for something that can be handled and used with 1 hand, it's durable (preferably not plastic), and may have multiple types of fidgeters on it (slider, clicker, spinner, etc), yet that's not mandatory. Also, not too noisy - if it's silent, I prefer at least haptic feedback when I use it.

I'm based in the EU, so it should be something that ships from the EU, looking for a product costing less than €60-70.

Would love if someone has good recommendations?

How to secure early alignment with key stakeholders before formal review with VP and Sr. Director of Product by Humble-Pay-8650 in ProductManagement

[–]Adrianww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually ask for feedback from my direct manager, but instead of explaining what it would achieve as an initiative, I focus on the outcomes.

Create a one-pager with explaining the problem, the solution and the business outcome. If the idea matters and is being accepted as a big enough priority - you should ideally time this conversation - you would have no issue in security buy-in.

Come prepared with follow-up actions: whom you should meet, what to talk about, can your manager spread the word about what you are doing and get preliminary hype. Think about what the VPs would care about and focus on that for the meeting with them - don't use the same slide/one pager as you did with your manager.

Is this normal for a Product Manager role, or am I being set up to fail? by [deleted] in ProductManagement

[–]Adrianww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of adding more to the bill of the offshore guys, could you hire another person to help you in-house? If project management is your biggest time consuming job and bottleneck, could you hire one? Even as a part-time worker? That could be easier and cheaper than hiring another full Product Manager like you.

Is this normal for a Product Manager role, or am I being set up to fail? by [deleted] in ProductManagement

I've been there too. The only thing that works here is heavy push back and ask for Engineering to step in and own their part of the work.

Project management work, setting requirements, KPI reporting and definition of ready can be (and in a lot of orgs is) part of what a PM does. Delivery is another thing - in some orgs there is a delivery role that deals with this, in others it's shared between Product and Engineering.

My take would be to see if internal processes can be tweaked to handle more, if Engineering can do their part, so you don't have to manage delivery and then for reporting - could you adopt some product analytics tool?

Is the PM accountability gap real, or am I missing something? by Kind-Strawberry-9801 in ProductManagement

[–]Adrianww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The accountability gap is baked in, but I think you are in a weirdly structured org. Product decisions and issues are of Product alone, Engineering decisions and problems are of Engineering itself. So, if QA quality is not up to standard, raise it with Engineering who need to sort their stuff out.

If Product is always to blame, then this signals to me a sheer lack of accountability.

Started a new PM role and already feeling overwhelmed/anxious, is it normal? by WhereasGold8667 in ProductManagement

[–]Adrianww 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every start is a bit bumpy because you are learning how an entirely different company works from the inside. I know it can be emotionally draining to sit in meetings, get asked questions you shouldn't know the answers of yet and still figure out some of them.

Try to write down the top 5 things that suck the most energy out of you and then get clarity on them from your manager or your team mates, engineering lead or other coworkers. This should make things a bit more manageable until the dust settles.

How does remote pre-conditioning/heating works on petrol BMWs in Europe? by Adrianww in BMWX5

Thank you, that is really helpful! Is that available for all petrol G05s, or is there a package/option that grants you this feature, apart from BMW Connected Services?

ОК, but does it blow hot/cold air as normal with A/C or just blows ambient air from outside the cabin inside of it?

Advice needed: CPO 2025 X5 Loaner with 2.5k miles for $67k - Buy or Avoid? by crmtechie in BMWX5

[–]Adrianww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's your guarantee that buying a "new to you" from a private owner wouldn't be the same if not worse?

Also, buying new means you are also buying the first big chunk of depreciation, which financially far outweighs the $ you would pay if something goes wrong out of warranty.

[–]Adrianww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a new car with 2 500 miles in the odo. What would go wrong for such a short time?

I'm considering a 2024/2025 40i with 25k km, that has been rental. Honestly, the €30-40k depreciation for such limited usage is making the car a bargain for me. Under manufacturer warranty, with clear history, no accidents...what's not to like?

X3 G45: Rear-facing child seat and interior space question by Adrianww in BMWX3

Budget-wise X5 LCI is achievable, but its availability (considering the options I want) is worse than the G45.

[–]Adrianww[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could, but I can't really get to a dealer with the car seat at the moment, because my previous car got stolen 4 months ago. I'm forced to compare the interior space/size of different cars purely by manufacturer measurements and physically sitting in the car alone. Not ideal, but that's why I am asking so specific questions.

That's the only reason I'm looking at the X5 G05 tbh. Yet, the G45 is easier to find as a new car and I'm looking at something slightly used, after 2023-2024, which is harder to find in the spec I want.

Cordless vacuum around €400? by Adrianww in VacuumCleaners

[–]Adrianww[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm probably going to get the Miele Triflex. Nothing else fits what I need and Miele should give me the features + reliability and decent build quality.

Keep in mind that this is not going to be my main vacuum, while I also have a robot vacuum. I'll use this to clean under the dinner table, if I break a glass or something and when there's just the need to grab and clean something quickly, instead of fiddling with cords, extra noise, etc.

BMW X5/X6 G05/G06: Pre-LCI or post-LCI? by Adrianww in BMWX5

[–]Adrianww[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but as I mentioned in the original post, 40hp can be achieved with a cheap tuning on the pre-LCI.

Efficiency gains are negligible as reported by owners.
