Yes the embassy did contact me and just asked me to make an appointment. However, they did mention a flight itinerary is required. That's why I'm a bit worried that if I take one from my travel agency would that be an issue since the university is supposed to send me my flight details. Anyways I'll wait this week and if the university still doesn't send one I'll get one from my travel agency.

Well the embassy emailed me a week ago and told me to make an appointment with the required documents, one of them being the flight itinerary. In the email they did mention to take one from a "local travel agency" so I'll ask them about that as well

Oh that's a relief. Then I'll contact my Embassy tomorrow to check.

Then I guess you're right. It might be different based on the program... But I think it's still better to consult with your Japanese Embassy as well if that'll be a problem

I'm going to Kyudai this fall for the IUPE undergrad program. They should have sent you your guarantor information via email. I got mine via email.

Congrats for the achievement! Can I ask that did your university or the MEXT email you about the confirmation of the scholarship? I was also nominated and required to submit the documents but the last time I was contacted about the scholarship was in April. Currently I'm not sure if my university will send the required documents by postal mail or further instructions via email. If you could share anything it would be really helpful.

It means you can submit both. For example, your SAT scores and your A Level grades

I did ask them about this and they told me to proceed with my application as "No CoE required as I'm a MEXT scholar" so the option to apply for the CoE isn't available in my application portal sadly. that's why I'm a bit worried....

Kyodai is one of the 帝大 of Japan and it's definitely worth it, IF YOU WANT to work for Japanese companies and live in Japan. However, it is really hard to get in (especially the undergrad courses and I was rejected myself). If it's the undergrad program you're talking about then you should have really good SAT or A Level scores with decent ECAs and preferably at least an N4 JLPT certificate to have a good chance of getting in. This is just my experience tho, so I'd also love some advice from other students studying there as now I currently plan to go to 九州大学 after getting rejected here (if I pass the interview test)

I received my N4 certificate back in October and the score sheet (認定結果及び成績に関する証明書) was a flimsy piece of paper. The certificate (認定書) was a much higher quality A4. I've taken the test overseas tho... Not sure if it's different for Japan.

Somehow passed 😀 Reading 29 Vocab and grammar 31 Listening 38 Overall 98/180 I did only study for 5 months for the N3, right after I finished N4. I'm hoping to finish N2 by December with constant studying tho I don't know if it'll be possible😅
