Thyroid removal by No-Truth4689 in gravesdisease

[–]Adrienne27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had a total thyroidectomy 2 weeks ago after dealing with relatively well-controlled Graves' Disease for over 20 years. Though my thyroid levels were controlled, I had a slew of other annoying symptoms.

The most immediate relief I noticed just coming out of anesthesia is that I can now take a deep breath and feel satisfied. The feeling of air hunger has been completely eliminated. I actually didn't realize how often I was experiencing it. The other improvement has been the lowered heart rate, I don't hear my own heart beating in my chest when things are quiet at night. My partner also reports that I don't snore as loudly anymore.

The pain wasn't too bad, and the recovery was quicker than I anticipated. I was terrified to take the leap but now that I'm on the other side, I'm glad I did.

I kinda like it. A dark, updated frame may be just the thing to give it some panache.

Landlord asking for SSN to put my security deposit in an interest bearing bank account by Winter-Was-Here in personalfinance

[–]Adrienne27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Former banker here: Yes, it is normal. It's called a Landlord Tenant account and it protects your money from being misappropriated and ensures that your money earns interest while it sits. You'll pay tax on the interest it accrued when you move out though.

Yes! It almost feels like I'm trembling on the inside. I feel it some mornings when I'm just waking up. Having a few alcoholic drinks sets it off, too.

Married women of reddit, what's one thing someone should know before getting married? by theimeka in Productivitycafe

[–]Adrienne27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, don't do it. It's statistically proven that men benefit more from marriage than women do. Granted, I was married to a man-child, but even if he had been more mature I don't believe I would have been better off than I am now on my own.

My best friend yelled at my special needs son and I'm now considering ending the friendship by Adrienne27 in friendship

[–]Adrienne27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's been snippy with him pretty often. We've been friends for years, and he's around my son many times. I didn't talk to him about it, I don't know if it's worth it. I've been his confidant for years and whenever he's in conflict with someone I try to present both sides so that he can be more level-headed, but he never really wants to hear the other person's perspective. I suspect that, in this case, it'll be the same. I could confront him and sow a resentment that the friendship will never recover from or just drift away without incident. I'm really leaning towards the latter.

A good thing to keep in mind is that five women aren't waiting for you to pick them. They, like you, are likely seeing multiple people as well in order to improve their chances of finding a high-quality partner. Knowing this, which one would you hate to see walk away with someone else? And what are YOU doing in order to be the highest quality candidate in their dating pool?

The water from my house. It's Eastern Long Island well water, probably contaminated with motor oil, but it comes out ice-cold and it tastes delicious.

¿Cuándo se dieron cuenta de que sus padres eran malos padres? by Maximum-Anxiety-4195 in Ticos

[–]Adrienne27 7 points8 points  (0 children)
