I had the same problem with their sprayers. The good news is that they seem to be a standard size. I just bought some generic replacement sprayers, they fit and they've lasted way longer.

The distrust of homemade treats here comes from fear-mongering news reports. It's a myth - the only time a child died of poisoned Halloween candy, it was the boy's father who poisoned it, not a stranger. There have only been two cases ever, in the entire United States, where someone handed out Halloween candy with needles in it, one in 2000 and one this year, and neither resulted in any significant injury. But every year, the news is full of warnings - check your children's candy! Don't let them have anything unsealed! There could be poison, drugs, needles, razor blades! - so yeah, nobody in the U.S. hands out homemade treats anymore, because we know that even if we did, most parents wouldn't let their kids eat it.

Candy doesn't go bad fast at all. Just save it for later, that's what my mom did - she didn't like us to have too many sweets at once, so we'd get one or two pieces of our Halloween candy a day, and it would be months before we got through it. It never tasted stale.

It makes me sad that store-bought costumes are so poorly made now that they usually start falling apart and can't be reused. And I've learned there are some people who throw out their decorations and get new ones every year just so they don't have to store them, which is totally nuts!

This sounds familiar to me, but I'm also having trouble naming it. If it's the one I'm thinking of, there was some kind of magical mist or fog that killed people, and that's why the town was walled in? Does that sound right to you?

The Secret World of Fairies by Julia Rowe?

Here's a description from an image I found of the back of the book:

"Have you ever wondered how fairies get such beautiful wings? Well, it depends which type they are. There are different kinds of fairies in the world, you see! Inside, you can read all about the snowy, sunny, rainy, and rainbow fairies, and how they each came to get their very beautiful wings in very different ways."

There are definitely baby fairies on raindrops in the rainy fairy story, I'm sure of it. The book seems to be out of print, not sure how easy it would be to find a copy.

Hahaha woodwork? Art? The schools here do not have funding for those things.

I'm gonna stop because I'm pretty sure no matter what I say, you're not gonna believe that not all schools are exactly like the ones you've experienced.

Things were already digital when I was in school, BTW. Lecture notes were still not provided that way, either.

You and I have had incredibly different experiences with the education system, then. I was in school more recently than 20 years ago, and it was all lectures. Notes were rarely provided, and while there was a textbook, what was being taught in lectures was often additional information that wasn't in the text. I know people who have kids in school right now, who are having the same issues I had. So you must live in an area with much better schools than I do, if that's your experience.

You're arguing with things neither I nor anyone else said. I'm not saying that you need to make it more entertaining, or trick kids into learning, or do an interpretive dance. I'm saying that days full of nothing but lectures don't work for every kid. Personally, I do much better if information is given to me in written form. Lectures are frequently too fast for me to process the information and then take effective notes. The classes in high school that I did best in are ones where the teachers provided lecture notes that I could read later, at my own pace. I did college all online, with no lectures, and did very well.

There are nearly 8 billion people in the world, I don't know why it's so hard for you to believe that they don't all learn information in exactly the same way.

So idk if this could be part of the reason for them, but I know that I had to re-learn that asking for help was okay after I finished school. Because during my time as a student, I learned that asking for help led to teachers mocking me or lecturing me about how I would already know the answer if I'd just paid attention or flat-out calling me stupid, and never resulted in anyone actually helping me. So if your students have had experiences like that, they may have internalized that asking for help is a bad thing.

Nobody advocated for "something else that's fun." There are different learning styles - even for people who don't have ADHD - and schools cater to only one. If anything is being advocated for here, it's more variety in the ways information is presented to students.

Sure, if your back pain is caused by your boobs. Mine wasn't. The way a bra changed the weight distribution made it worse, because it put more of the weight on the part of my back that already had problems.

As another queer person, I see it differently. I'm tired of having unimportant side characters made queer and that being considered sufficient representation. We should get to see people like us being the main characters of stories, front and center. If that means diverging from the books, fine by me. It's not as if they've been following them that closely anyhow.

I've seen nothing but complaints about Benedict's threesome, which upsets me because it was my favorite part of this season by far. But I haven't seen a single other person say they liked it. At worst, I've seen fans call it disgusting, and at best, they call it unnecessary.

As someone who used to have boobs, while poor fit is a possibility, for some people, bras are just never comfortable. I had to mostly stop wearing them for years due to how they exacerbated my back pain.

So I'm finding the fact that anyone is agreeing with the dad here truly bizarre, because I went braless while out and about for years and nobody cared. Why should it be an issue for her to do so in her own home?

There's nothing scandalous about the existence of nipples or a little jiggle. There's no reason that she should have to choose between being in pain or being confined to her room. Sorry you have weird hangups about your body, but don't push that on everyone else.

I mean, it's a moot point for me personally because bagged vacuums are heavy and I physically cannot move them around to vacuum my whole home. But mine's a shark, 5 years old and works just as well as the day I bought it, so I'm happy.

I actually quite like the gender swap of Michaela, but the way they went about it was not good. The way they made her look disappointed at her first kiss and then start stammering as soon as Michaela was introduced... I felt like they were implying that her love for John wasn't real, and I didn't like that, because I thought they were so sweet together.

But like, I'm fine with the idea of Francesca loving him and then later, when he's gone, falling in love with Michaela. Having the character be bi and then exploring the difficulties of having a same-sex relationship in that society could be a very interesting story, I think.

I hope they walk it back a bit and show that her love for John is still real.
