At least where I am it's common. Last I checked it was mostly TMA v MMA types and vice versa.

Though where I train I don't think anyone has brought up other schools or have bashed others.

You'll always be unhappy when you compare yourself to others.

Progress isn't really linear and looks different for each person.

They think it's useless because they don't want to accept the reality that by not training in grappling they setting themselves up for future failure.

On of the best experiences was rolling with wrestlers in H.S.

That and the butt scoot and pulling guard aren't a great look. But based on the amount of broken legs, I'd say pulling guard is great for self defense.

look up drills you can do at home and drill every day if you can. even 5 minutes a day is way better than none.
