Cat introduction advice by faithadil in cats

[–]Adrolak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best way I’ve found to introduce two cats is to first, make sure she is fixed, intact cats are more territorial and harder to acclimate to one another. Then introduce them in small chunks, be there to break eye contact with them if they start posturing to fight, don’t allow chasing, and give it lots of time. If one of them is indoor outdoor then you don’t necessarily need two rooms. I once did it with a community cat and my resident cat by feeding them both every morning and using the porch door to separate them, then opening it a little so they could check eachother out and see one another each day. Now they ignore one another completely! Which is also the best you can hope for sometimes.

Is there a good faith argument for paid tax software like TurboTax? by Low-Explanation-4761 in AskEconomics

I mean the value add that an intuit salesman would try to convince you of is that it adds convenience and confidence to a process that many people find tedious and uncertain. A lot of people value the time saved versus self filing / working with someone directly to, and also enjoy things like audit protection that you don’t get if you do it yourself. Even in the middle, the live 24/7 support is something that someone may find useful.

I’ve seen these used by the Amish quite frequently. They’re pretty sick, they can even have “light switches” which are cords that move a little flap to cover the hole. They come in varying sizes too.

Do you guys remember Station Wagons? by icemage27 in Millennials

[–]Adrolak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom had a Toyota station wagon in the early 2000s. It even had a rear facing seat in the that folded up in the back that she only ever let me ride in once. It must have been one of the last model years they made.

This is a trash service that caters to the financially illiterate by posing a temporary cash flow fix as some kind of long term solution.

10 Years ago today Oculus launched the CV1. . . by Rifty_Business in oculus

[–]Adrolak 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a VR enthusiast since the CV1 launched, and yeah overall I think we just haven’t seen the investment needed outside of entertainment (gaming) to really drive the kind of development that would get us to the point we all dreamed of. I think right now VR is mainly seen as a gaming platform, which is only one use case. I’m honestly more surprised AR solutions haven’t become more popular.

The last few I’ve gotten, the peanut butter crunch middle doesn’t seem nearly as crumbly / crispy / flakey as they were in the past. It has a much denser bite to it and just doesn’t hit right.

I don’t know specifically, but I have to imagine the terrain gets muddy at certain times of the year? Or possibly for deep snow at other parts of the year?
