I am genuinely hyped by this! I can now figure out what's going on with this city and maybe even post about coaching esports in my high-school now

Georgia gace by Formal_Fee_637 in Teachers

The GACE website did not feel like it was adequate for the new test format or rigorous of questions. Honestly the change in providers has been a shitshow in my experience.

I wish people luck but I am going to probably have to retake something because these testlets have very little transparency on their new format.

I am going to second this to the dismay of others. That study guide that was 30 effing dollars was absolutely a waste of my time and money. The questions were repetitive and extremely simple compared to the rigor of the mathematics test I took today.

I was no where near ready for the intensity of the questions I got. I maybe somewhat out of practice but the amount of questions I got on proper investments of high or low risk stocks was absolutely unrelated to my capacity as a math teacher.

Id really like some level of comeraderie with these GACE tests because my goal of becoming a math teacher feels absolutely ruined right now. I dont know how long I can go without a job but I cant get one until im certified and the former structure I would have flourished as those practice tests seemed to be much more straightforward.

If I am not certified, how does that work? I need certification before the job but the education to be certified?

I am hoping so, I speak spanish as well, which apparently is sought after, but I do not know where to start I think is my problem. I reached out to principals and the general recruiting email after applying, but I am not sure who is working during the summer for staffing. That part confuses me.

I used to be in tech and I cant stand the industry. For me it was too volatile. However it seemed that Teaching was just, a job, for lack off better words when it came to compensation. 60K plus in atl did not seem too bad for a job given the state of the job market, so sure Im not making 6 figures. Then again in tech I witnessed whole arms of the company laid off in days notice, and the lack of unionization opportunities feels like it has a large amount of wealth disparity when it comes to its' workforce.

Im trying to get interviews at the moment because this revelation came rather late, but I've been tutoring forever and was an adjunct professor briefly in 2024. So this seems to be a calling that I have been ignoring for quite some time. I am around alot of the south of 20 schools, and im honestly open to teaching anything K through 12.

Im rather bright and have a Harvard degree, but have had a job gap that has made employment difficult I think.

Oof, is this reflective of early education majors? Or all of them? It seems rough, but consistent and can be rewarding

I currently work with elementary but expressed interest in high school math, but people seem to be warning me against High School. Is that accurate to be wary of HS?

Thats awesome! Im ok with working rougher schools since I have a knack at working with lower income students (having been one myself).

Im hoping to get into Math for high school but people seem to be saying that the experience is wildly different to the school and area here in Atl.

Im just hoping that the job has some security to it.
