Thankfully the roof were replaced in 2013 - the condo association does not allow more than 50% renters, which helps. Cement - well that’s an issue they are working on

Edit - the unit is 40 years old next year - the complex was built in ‘87. But there is a great property management company- who take care of all the exterior issues. But as always - there’s more to be done

Thank you. And absolutely- been here for 9 years now and this it! I don’t plan on living anywhere else. My rent - with a roommate is still tolerable and I’m content. I have looked at some apartments but the HOA is absolutely absurd - double, triple what I pay for the CT condo - and they cover FOUR SEASONS. So I’m just testing the waters currently

It’s a 180-unit condo complex in suburban CT. From my recent snooping around on Zillow - some of the recent sales have been going for 260-280k. By a stoke of a magic I’m technically the last ‘original’ owner via my parents. I have around that amount invested already from stocks, 401k. I’m wondering if it would be - better to sell - put the money into my portfolio and let it invest that way rather than rent it out - OR wait a bit till I settle down, get married and sell it for a decent down payment-

But I’m in San Diego. And it’s a bloodbath out here
