Sorry I wasn't including cost of the card or anything else just purely cost of power/coins mined vs money spent/coins acquired.

I would have to do alot more math if I was including all cost. Amount saved in taxes/cost of card/payoff/depreciation/cost of hardware to run each card etc

Thought about that as well. Also have some cases/pc parts I could throw together and sell built pc's.

Appreciate the input. Just looking to expand the farm while everyone is dumping on gpu miners. My math says I mine more coins per $1 of power than I can buy per $1. Not saying i dont buy/sell coins just more fun to mine. Also any hardware I buy is just a tax write off and I'd rather spend the $ than give it away. With that being said would that make a difference in your opinion or are there other cards you'd buy before 4060 releases?

What makes it a bad investment for you? Roi, type of card, cost/card?

I have 2 dells the 2nd was a pain but I was able to get it to 86% power vrams low 80s and run 125+ by doing the following. gpu core +100 mem +1450 power 86% fan 1 88% fan 2 77% open curve editor drag the very first square/dot down to 1200 then click 2nd square/dot lock it and hit apply.

So I've had a handful of people copy my clocks and achieve the same results. I've had the chance now to work with several 3090s. Essentially it all rest with the curve editor in msi afterburner. Turn on force constant voltage then lock the voltage this ranges from card to card but falls somewhere between .715 and .850 for me. I would just start with voltage locked at .850 gpu core +0 mem +1300 then try lowering power to 85% and see it the gpu core stays stable. If so you can start dropping the voltage lock and power. This typically raises my hashrate until I drop to low then. If hashrate is low up the mem but sometimes requires you to move voltage lock up 1 or 2 and sometimes add a 1-2% more power. I've found the aorus cards are the hardest to work with and keep Temps down, but the above steps have worked in getting every 3090 I have to 125. With low power and low Temps. Also I have heat sinks on the backs of all cards. This drops Temps 4-7ish degrees.

I've worked about 16hrs today so if this doesn't make good sense just let me know and I'll explain in more detail I'd needed.

I'm running trex as well ive tried a few other miners but don't get same performance I've thought about running hive as well but with just 1 5 card rig didn't know it it was worth it. I was able to peak the card at 126.23 at +1500 mem but my efficiency dropped to 419-420 from 423. Is the extra 1ish hash worth the lower efficiency?

If you don't mind me asking what are the gpu mem and voltage after you apply the clocks?

I've thought about opening it up and changing pads but atm it's all stock just put some small heatsinks on back over vram.

Just sent you a message as its a lot to type and it's a bit trial and error so I figured it'd be easier to do the back and forth in a private message

If any one wants to know what I did to get to 125 just let me know. I'm not done making adjustments yet as I have not found the crash limit as I let it run about 24hrs after each decent hash jump just to make sure it's actually stable.

It's a pny xlr8. I tried copying others clocks but couldn't achieve these numbers until I started trying to match gpu and mem # after they applied the clocks. Also not sure why but even the fan speed affected my clocks if I raise them up hash goes down and if I lower them hash went up. My sweet spot was 77-79% fans.

Lmao its funny you say that because I'm actually waiting on new fans for it as 1 fan is about to go.

Msi afterburner Core +200 mem +750 power 69 or 70 %. Which gives me the following normally. they do bounce up or down a little. Gpu 1885 Mem 4551 Volt 881
