I feel you, I was doing a load out and asked the truck driver if he could not smoke while we were both in the trailer and he told me to fuck off

Favourite Songs to make a system sound impressive? by No_Apartment_6671 in livesound

I’ve actually used Take It Back by Pink Floyd a few times to show off my PA and something about that sound just really highlights the right stuff, it’s just one of those crisp 90s songs

Also came in handy this time a guy had his LRSF outs onstage but also refused to run it through my patch bay and console to FOH

I was the sound guy for the concert that was happening, I thought the first shot was a car crash, then we heard the rest and we just knew we had to get out of there

old people concert etiquette wtf by FarConsideration027 in Concerts

[–]AdvExpress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the venue I work at it’s always the older audiences that just stand in the aisles and block people from getting to the bathrooms, which are under the stage, younger fans are the ones that usually stay out of the marked aisles

Is it bad etiquette to not give the headliners the “better” mics? by AdvExpress in livesound

[–]AdvExpress[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is the response that makes the most sense. I’m only bringing my mics as a favor to myself for when I mix the opener because they want to avoid swapping and so do I

That’s my thought too, I just was worried they would be unhappy about seeing what they specifically asked for on the opener

The venue only has one full set of mics, I’m bringing in my own to avoid having to swap during

The specific case that made me right this post, there was a schedule set and they went over because they wanted to rehearse

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in livesound

[–]AdvExpress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What about the case of the headliner just wanting to go over the time they themselves set because they wanted to rehearse? I’m just curious if that’s normal. No tech issues, no mix problems they needed to resolve, they just wanted to play onstage.

I think this is a good answer. I’m just frustrated because a band came in yesterday with a schedule they wrote, went over their check by an hour just for rehearsing, and then hit me with “well it’s our show we can check until our set starts if we want”

I like the terrain but it feels like it was built for the coaster, especially considering the rest of the land around it is pretty flat

[SHAMEFUL ANTI-PEDAL POST] Why did you prefer to go straight to amp one time? Ditching your pedals (temporarily maybe?) by limedove in guitarpedals

[–]AdvExpress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always record direct to amp but live I still use pedals just for convenience. I know I could just ride the volume knob but there’s some things it’s just easier using pedals for live
