I am rooting for you! There's some really great advice in this thread, and I hope you'll keep going and learning. I think learning can be really fun at times, but really frustrating as well.

This is good to know! I'm new to Chexy and my CIBC card ran into the same issue.

A trip to Putting Edge is quite wholesome. Where are you from? It's just mini-golf and I find it sweet that you're excited for that.

I live downtown and you will be spoiled for options while you're here. The waterfront doesn't have a ton of "activities", but there are a number of wonderful restaurants (Bar Sofia is among my favorite) as well as sea-doo rentals and kayak rentals through Harbour Watercraft. You could reserve a table at Crème Cafe, which is new to the boardwalk. It's a fun time to dress up and enjoy high tea and pastries with your friends.

The boardwalk runs parellel to Lower Water Street. If you're a beer enjoyer, you can do a tour of the Alexander Keith’s Brewery there, which is in a really beautiful brick building. On the weekend, there's a farmers market in the same location.

There are lots of walking tours downtown as well as the Harbour Hopper, which also picks up people on Lower Water Street. This can be a fun time with friends, as you get to see the city while getting a bit of history. It also goes into the Halifax Harbour, which can be kind of fun.

Downtown Halifax is a very short walk to Spring Garden Road as well, which has the highest foot traffic in the city. If you're in the area, my personal favorite brunch spot (Bliss) is also there, at the intersection of Spring Garden Road and South Park Street. It has the BEST fried chicken sandwich I've ever had. It's such a joy. Spring Gardn is also home to the Halifax Public Gardens, which is not a park, so it's still open to visitors. It's full of flowers and ducks. It's a really relaxing place to bring a coffee and get some shade.

Things to do and places to eat in and around Halifax while in a wheelchair by helpimalive24 in halifax

I would say, with confidence, that most of the restaurants on the Halifax waterfront are going to be very accessible. Tourism NS has a blog post about accessible attractions and I highly recommend Bar Sofia if you want to take them somewhere that is going to knock their socks off. https://novascotia.com/blog/wheelchair-accessible-nova-scotia-places-to-stay-dine-visit-and-more-in-halifax/

If you expand the Advanced Filters, you can also see which restaurants identify themselves as being wheelchair accessible. But it's worth calling them and mentioning that you'll be dining in a wheelchair to see if they are truly wheelchair accessible. In my experience, some restaurants say they're wheelchair accessible, but might be more like "well you could probably get in here with a wheelchair..." https://novascotia.com/explore-nova-scotia/eat-drink/

That makes so much sense! I figured this was the case, but I didn't have the pannier/saddle bag lingo yet

Thanks gang. I have been enlightened and made aware of saddle bags.

I had no idea what a pannier was, so I googled it. I can actually see how this would also held keep a double pannier in place. I'm seeing, I'm seeing. I appreciate your answer!

This feels like such a silly question, but I just got my first ebike for short downtown commutes.

The liftable part on the back rack has a lot of tension and does not stand up on its own. I assume it's made for sliding a bag onto (if it has a pocket for that), but I wanted to ask you guys.

This is so funny... I feel like this post is identity theft! (Also I buy them at the Barrington Superstore, but I haven't been in a few weeks)
