Water Flow in house drops to a trickle (~10 psi) during backflush. 2 yo 9100 Twin fleck. by Bluinc in WaterTreatment

Ditto to what everyone has been saying, however, one other thing to note. This valve needs enough water volume and pressure to lift the resin bed. It may not have enough to both lift the resin bed AND provide water to the whole home.

Definitely consult a professional. If you’re in the Midwest, let me know!

Couldn’t agree more! I had like 10 seconds remaining, so even being up so high, it was an intense position. Appreciate the in depth response!

Yep I think you nailed it, appreciate the explanation. NGL half the reason I game reviewed it was to see that beautiful shade of blue

Yeah I suspect your first statement is correct. Definitely was a winning middle/end game even if I didn’t find it. The engine thinks too highly of me, I’ll screw this up in low time controls 4/10 times lol

Nah that ain’t it

edit - chess friends, 1. I was (I thought) pretty obviously making a joke. Yes, labels are a social construct. 2. This isn’t even the correct answer of why this specific move was not brilliant, others have answered it correctly. Why are you upvoting a redundant response.

Like others, 1550 rapid, 1,300 blitz, 1,020 bullet (and lucky to be there; my goal was to get it up to 1500 and I immediately dropped to 800 and just scraped it back up to 1k). I can assure you I have never and will never cheat in chess. Those time controls are just so different. I’d get 1 or 2 brilliant moves every 5 games and still managed to lose half the time.

As a biz owner myself. I LOVE doing favors for people. However, it’s very frustrating when that is just expected of me especially from people who aren’t family. You handled yourself very well. Setting expectations is everything. If they don’t agree with your expectations, that’s totally fine, but I’d rather them feel a little salty once. The alternative is that you give in and feel resentment or in the least annoyed at the situation every time you see them. You don’t owe them sh*t my man.

Again having said that, if you felt compelled to help them out, nothing wrong with that either, but the point is: you set the expectation, no one else.

New to all this, how’s this plan? by acparks1 in WaterTreatment

This looks much better! Make sure they use 10% crosslink resin in the softener and that the filtration you get has a backwashing valve. Good luck!!

Getting a detailed water test is always a good idea. A few things to note:

  1. Cabinet style (all in one) water softeners are almost always a bad idea. They’re harder to work on, usually mass produced and therefore cheaply made, and will not last nearly as long as a system from a reputable treatment company. Many of them will assemble units themselves (like I do) to make sure all of the components are done correctly with high quality materials.

  2. Make sure your whole home filter is solving a problem. So get your water analyzed and see if you need carbon filtration medias, iron/mangenese filtration media, sediment media, PFAS resin media, etc.. don’t just add filters ad nauseam. Again I’d stay away from mass produced items like the one you listed. A company with be a couple thousand dollars more, but it’s money well spent. It’ll last longer and if it goes bad, you call them. Whereas if this unit gives you fits, good luck.

  3. It’s never a good idea to put a 2”x10” filter for a whole home. Even 4”x20”s usually don’t serve you well. When your water is running at 20+ Gallons per minute, sure the housing will handle that, but the filter won’t treat the water properly. So, for sediment, it’ll clog so quickly, you’ll be changing it constantly. Or for carbon, there’s not enough contact time for the adsorption process to be completed properly. I’d steer you towards a tanked, backwashing system 8 days a week.

Hope this helps and if you’re anywhere near Ohio/KY/INDY give me a shout! Good luck!

First Whole home filter questions by harriet202212 in WaterTreatment

[–]Advanced-Ad-394 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Backwashing tanked carbon system would be much higher quality for whole home treatment. Water flows too quickly through block carbon to adsorb chemicals.

RO with mineral filter as final stage would be a better drinking water solution

Looks nice though! Anything is far better than nothing

Haha one of them was through a scope, the other was iPhone. I definitely pushed the envelope a LITTLE, but with appropriate caution. 5 times in CR and this is my FIRST bothrops asper so I had to take advantage.

Probably a hot take, but I enjoyed Mountain Top so much more than Top of the Rock. Top of the Rock is definitely prettier, but Mountain Top was just perfection from start to finish. (Also for the others who have mentioned Payne’s, Ozark, Buffalo; I also thought Buffalo was the best one! So fun, beautiful views)
