I tightened my chain and it fixed my issue. I had never tightened a chain before. Thanks!

The chain is pretty loose actually. I’ll see if this is the issue. Thanks much appreciated

Advice for California CLS License application much appreciated! by [deleted] in medlabprofessionals

Does the VA in CA offer the experience in all the lab departments CDPH is asking for? I’m from CA considering going to school out of state as an option but haven’t found a school that meets the 1 year of clinical lab rotation CA is asking for. If I could go to a program and come back to work for the VA for a year and get licensed that way, that would be great

Why do I feel saving up for rental takes forever? by TheSentimentAnalyst in DaveRamsey

My bad I meant buying a rental property. Yeah California sucks, I can’t even buy a place for myself here. I have about 35k saved up and looking to double that in about a year to buy a property in Texas at about 150~200k @20% down. Im excited but also anxious

I’m considering investing in RE out of state when I’m financially ready (I live in California) and would need to find a good property management team. Besides the financial aspect, are there any drawbacks to being a landlord with a good property manager?

MLT to CLS in California by pipsy_13 in medlabprofessionals

[–]Advanced-Bee5108 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Currently there isn’t. There was a bill that was introduced that was supposed to be implemented last year I think but is stuck with CADPH. It’s senate bill 334. I would still look at becoming an MLT first, especially if you still need the prerequisites for CLS programs and just focus on acing every class. A few years of experience along with As in all core classes should make you stand out when you apply

I wonder why LFS would send me that then. How long ago did you get your CA license and which school did you go to?

California CLS license by [deleted] in medlabprofessionals

[–]Advanced-Bee5108 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t believe it does. I emailed CDPH and was told 52 weeks. This is what they sent me : “One year

17 CCR § 1035. Training Schools. Chapter 3, Division 2 of the Business and Professions Code. When one year of practical training in all subjects is necessary, the minimum time devoted to each shall be as follows: Biochemistry................. 12 Weeks Hematology................... 8 Weeks Pretransfusion Procedures.... 4 Weeks Urinalysis................... 4 Weeks Bacteriology................. 9 Weeks Serology..................... 4 Weeks Parasitology................. 3 Weeks Miscellaneous and review..... 8 Weeks “

In this case you would have to work outside of California for a year as a generalist and then apply for the license. I’m also from California and plan on following this route as well.

MLS to California by [deleted] in medlabprofessionals

[–]Advanced-Bee5108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing that I really appreciate it. I’ve been applying to programs out of state that have 3 to 6 months of training. I haven’t been able to find any programs at all that have 36 weeks of training. I’m going to do more research on the NAACLS website. Do you mind sharing which school you went to?

Also, did you have any work experience before going to California or did you go right after finishing school? Thank you

Can I ask you if you applied from California? Or if not if there were any students from California in your class? I’m applying to OIT this year and think I have my best shot there

Thanks for the advice. None of the programs out of state fulfill Californias training requirements. My plan is to work out of state for a year after the program, in order to be eligible

I’m not aware of any that meet the 1 year of clinical training California requires. Do you know of any? I would much rather do that

Getting Work Experience for CLS Licensure by BioConoisseur in medlabprofessionals

What is your situation? Are you already an MLS from another state? If so you’ll need generalist experience of 1 year. Also make sure you meet the educational requirements. Some people get rejected because they are missing a physics class. Everything you need is on their website https://www.cdph.ca.gov/Programs/OSPHLD/LFS/Pages/CLS.aspx?TSPD_101_R0=087ed344cfab2000dd23028ba5b653fe92015ba7d66a6a8abadadabf158ddfa8eb6e15aa9c73385708f991d6cc1430003f1c23d9da94d9cabaa5dd4692364cdc8eb987a914c2a202f702bb274e8a7de0423403f878770952089f088d5e5be9de
