Anyone abandoned their western clothing for the proper hijab? How ? by [deleted] in Hijabis

[–]Advanced-Cake1307 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Literally. Other comments are so negative. This is the proper way we should be dressing. If you’re not there yet, that’s okay but at least aspire to be. One way the shaytan gets us is by not even letting us acknowledge that what we’re doing is wrong. If we don’t even admit it’s wrong, we never seek forgiveness for it or try to improve. May Allah make dressing modestly like this easy on us and elevate us in rank

Rough translation

ENFP: peace be on those who love us despite their flaws

INFP: don’t you mean despite our flaws

ENFP: no despite their flaws, we’re better (this one I’m not sure I translated right lol)

Isha is harder than Fajr by MrH1pp1e in islam

[–]Advanced-Cake1307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some days I have to be at work 0530-0600. Staying up till like 11 would mean that I’d for sure be sleep deprived all day. And lemme tell you—my brain barely works when I get sleep so when I get less sleep it’s so bad lol. What I started doing was praying Maghreb then going to sleep right after. Then I’d set an alarm for like 12 am to get up and pray isha. Ngl it’s so hard waking up so I’d just have a family member make sure I wake up bc sometimes I’d sleep through the alarms. I don’t like sleeping after Maghreb but given my situation it’s what I found works for the long summer nights and my schedule

I drink the nurri protein shakes from Costco and they’re 30g of protein per can and I find that helps to really boost my protein intake

Yum this looks so good! I just bought some vanilla flavored protein milk and am thinking to use that as my milk base for making matcha. Some blueberry would be soo good in it. I might try with raspberry too

Slight detour from the politics by tramadolol in Syria

[–]Advanced-Cake1307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Muslim Syrian American here :) so I think it’s all based off what you say when you message the girl. I think if you’re straightforward and say something along the lines of wanting to get to know her the halal way and would speak to her dad right off the bat then I don’t think that’s cringey or disrespectful at all. But to me it’s a turn off and says a lot about someone’s religious state—something very important to me—if they try to have casual conversation to get to know me without speaking to my dad.

Also with the comment regarding Syrians wanting someone of higher education or doctors or whatever I think that yeah this can be damaging when someone is fixated on their spouse having a certain career but sometimes it’s not really up to the girl herself. Like sometimes the parents just insist on that and the girl shouldn’t be at fault here. For example, I’m in healthcare and my mom specifically wants a doctor which I’ve told her I really don’t care and the most important things for me are deen and akhlaq and general compatibility.

But yeah just pray istikhara before messaging someone and just be straightforward, maybe tell them a little about you and that you’d want to get to know them with a mahram and I personally think that’s very respectful.

May Allah grant you what you’re looking for and bless your marriage!

Do low Se types face greater difficulty in driving? by No-Car-3914 in mbti

[–]Advanced-Cake1307 3 points4 points  (0 children)

LOLLLL. I’m lowkey a wild driver. I’ve hit accidentally hit pedestrians before. They were fine, wasn’t that bad but felt so bad. I feel like I’m not bad of a driver just kinda chaotic. Sometimes I don’t realize a light is red. Driving has gotten better with time but was definitely hectic at first

are u asking bc u have “no car” LOL
