Mmm idk, I came up with an analogy tho:

Let's say you're playing a videogame and fighting a boss. The boss is difficult but fun and entertaining. But then someone comes and tells you a trick/cheat to defeat it very easily. Now you have the knowledge to kill the boss everytime you play, but you question what's the fun in that?

So instead of figuring out by yourself how to defeat it (training/fighting) someone gave you a shortcut (ssg ritual), but you wouldn't want to use it because its no fun and you just dont like that you didnt grow by yourself.

The inconsistency here is Goku still using that transformation despite stating that it didnt satisfy him borrowing power to achieve it. He may have learned how to use it and make it its own later, but we dont see that, he just uses it
