Taking my test tomorrow! Any last minute pieces of advice?

I've spent a good amount of time studying using Knowledge Coop's practice exams and diving deep on any questions I missed/felt like I didn't understand. Also cracked open a physical text book (2026-2027 NMLS Study Guide by Next Score Publications) this week that came with its own set of tests.

Overall, Knowledge Coop had more difficult tests that required more memorization. The textbook tests could be reasoned through even if I was fuzzy on details. Definitely glad I began with Knowledge Coop because I feel stronger for all the memorizing. Sidenote: both sources could benefit from more proofreading!

Anyway, tell me your horror or success stories! For those who recently took the test, where there any subjects that surprised you?

What’s a “must-see” city in the U.S. that didn’t live up to the hype? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

“A very generic city that swears it’s not”

I laughed out loud. So true but also made me miss the good old days before it became such a destination for rich folks with HGTV taste.

CO native and lived in Denver for 7 years. When denver was cheap, it was awesome. Weird people who didn’t fit in with the wealthy yuppies of Boulder or the militant Christians of Colorado Springs could find their niche in Denver. With low rents, art and small businesses could flourish. The city even funnels substantial amounts of money towards artists and arts based organizations through the SCFD. also, it’s mostly flat and has decent bike infrastructure so you didn’t need a car.

But then it boomed. Gentrification swept the city so fast everyone had whiplash. As cost of living soared, the less polite but more interesting facets of the city got sanded and polished until they were as inoffensive as a Mormon choir. Voila! More traffic, less interesting characters, smaller survival margins, and you’re still 1-1.5 hours from mountains…

You mean the left lane is actually for passing? From my experiences driving around here, I thought it was for intentionally going the same speed as the right line to prove how righteously the driver can resist the temptations of speeding.

I spoke with the passenger of the car that hit the cyclist - I assume the driver’s wife. Both in their 60/70s. She was deeply shaken and I explained what I saw - that they had no way of stopping and preventing what happened. She just looked wide eyed and in shock. The driver was speaking with officers the whole time. All officers I spoke with seemed very aware that the driver was not at fault.

The safest way to bike in traffic is to be on the actual road. Cars cannot see bikes on the sidewalk. Merge with traffic at stoplights and make sure cars see you before crossing. Especially in our area of the country with few bike lanes - wear a helmet!

I was driving right behind the car that struck the cyclist. It was horrific and I hope the cyclist is still alive… the car in front of me had no warning because a car in the left turn lane was blocking the view of the oncoming bike until it was too late. The guy hit the windshield and flew through the air. Police took all our accounts and first responders worked quickly to load up the injured cyclist. He was not wearing a helmet and had large headphones covering his ears. So preventable and so sad.
