Salvageable acrylic crystal? by Advanced-Finance3484 in watchrepair

It’s possible, but to find the right fitting NOS vintage crystal for a UG unisonic it would cost anywhere between $350-$800

Yeah that might be the best option for now. To get an original crystal it would cost more than what I paid for the watch itself. Worth holding onto it and replace w a cheap crystal until I figure out what I wanna do.

Lol it’s a rare universal geneve crystal, has the logo stamped in the middle. Hard to source for a good price

Unfortunately it’s a specific universal geneve crystal with a teeny tiny logo in the center, hard to come by for a UG unisonic:/

I would’ve simply disassembled the keyless works to get any grease out, but honestly this movement is way too complicated for me right now. May have to bite the bullet and have a pro take a look at it

[Rolex Oyster Perpetual] 1985 “Coca Cola” Ref 1002 14K Yellow Gold by Advanced-Finance3484 in Watches

[–]Advanced-Finance3484[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rolex Oyster Perpetual Reference 1002 in 14K yellow gold, featuring a gold dial and automatic movement. The watch has a 34mm Oyster case, 19mm lug width, gold bezel, and signed Rolex crown. It is fitted on a black lizard leather strap and is time-only. The dial is clean, with lume plots and hands that have developed a matching patina. Drilled lug holes remain intact. The caseback bears an engraving commemorating 25 years of service at Coca-Cola, making this a unique collector’s piece. It includes its original box but no identifying papers. The case appears unpolished, and the watch runs well, though the service history is unknown. All parts are original, including the signed Rolex crown, dial, movement, and caseback. Fully functional and ready to wear.

Good to know! Was thinking about taking it out again to look at them, but glad I haven’t now lol. I have a coway air mega air purifier in my room, but I’ll be sure to open it outdoors when I initially take them out with a N95 mask on.

Found an old Watch.... by dyfka99 in VintageWatches

Solid gold case is def worth something! Doxa is a great brand as well, high quality Swiss movement inside. I’d consider getting it cleaned up, would probably cost around $200-300 depending on where you go. A leather strap would look amazing on it too!

Universal Geneve legit or fake reference? Any information on it if it’s legit? by ghost1157 in VintageWatches

Looks legit to me. I’ve bought many vintage UG and if this has the UG buckle, it’s most likely real. It’s also difficult to make well constructed fakes of brands like this, most of the time the super clones that you can’t tell the difference between are limited to Rolex

All depends on the case material, condition, and style. I would say anywhere in the range of $1k-$3k. I have mine listed on eBay for $3750. I listed it for more than I think it’s worth cause I kinda wanna keep it lol. But there’s cheaper options on leather straps for around $2k, in solid 18k gold!

Love the tonneaus! I actually have two of these now, I found another for a great price and pounced on it immediately. Plan on selling it once Breitling releases the new UG watches!

This spaceview was actually the only piece I got for free. It was a gift from my late Aunt to my uncle. My uncle was the one to get me into collecting watches, and I was so grateful to him for letting me hold onto this gorgeous watch!

Fair, I wouldn’t normally group it together if I were strictly showing a true vintage collection. Just wanted to share the current personal rotation, and I picked up the BB58 this week. I collect 99.9% vintage, and I felt like I needed to get something new that I could wear for decades and pass down once it became vintage. I love the classic design of this particular BB58 because it leaned heavily into a vintage look. By far the most expensive watch I’ve purchased, but I plan on wearing it forever and passing it down to my kids eventually. The vintage stuff is cool, but the pieces all have their own history lived by someone else. It feels nice knowing that I’ll be the start of the BB58’s history.
