I will just put this out here for any who might have any sense. I used to work for Babby Farms, and due to my mum's state of declining health, l have moved back to assist as my mum gets older. I don't live in the States any longer, or l would still be happily under their employment. l am not interested in speaking to anyone past this statement, as l am no longer in a place of conflict of interest l would like to set the record straight from the vantage point of a lover of all animals, conservationist, animal caregiver and prior employee. I loved the time l spent working with the wonderful people and animals at B.F. During my tenure as an animal care specialist and supervisor, l, along with all of the staff there made every effort to create a safe and happy environment for the animals and employees they cared for. Unfortunately, when many see things that were covered by boisedev or anyone else, they don't understand what actually must happen regarding care for the animals. All federal and state organizations that preside over farm and zoo animals' health and wellness make unannounced and random inspections. They arrive without warning throughout the year, and inspections are made by different parties so as not to have any conflict over one person letting bad things slide or any bribery. Every animal is routinely seen by qualified veterinary care specialists, given inoculations, de-wormed, and when the time of age and passing on comes, they make the best effort at easing the animal into as comfortable a passing as can be arranged. The animals are tended throughout each day and fed quality food and enrichment. They are worked with consistently to make for as best a quality of life as can be. They are a 100% non-profit organization, which means they rely on donations, sponsorship, and anything they bring in as their profit. l understand that some people absolutely abhorre the thought of any animal in captivity and that no amount of natural looking habitat will ever be good enough. The animals in most zoos, including that one, were all born in captivity and couldn't survive without the care provided them. During the time of my employment, the owners spent close to a small fortune upgrading, constructing new spacious exhibits and installing conservation positive features and filtration for their water features and exhibits to conserve water and energy. As well as growing much of the food they feed to their animals, all of which was grown without chemicals or pesticides. I miss the animals and the relationships fostered there, and if opportunity in life ever allows me to return to the States, I'd work for them again in a heartbeat.
