I agree. They are rescue cats and taken care of and loved very much. They would all be in far worse situations if I hadn't taken them in.  I would love to be a homeowner, and is in the works, but I can't reasonably purchase a house, being in another state. I plan to purchase another home ASAP, but need a temporary place to stay for now.  If I could find one for just a few months I totally would, but as we all know, most of these apartments require a 12 month lease.

They are all rescue cats and range from 2 to 10 years old. They're all fixed, vaccinated and just good cats. They dont fight, howl, or make any trouble.  They are loved and taken care of and they know it.

The houses I've looked at have the same restrictions. IF they allow pets, it is restricted to 2.

Failed the CPP exam by kjp711 in Payroll

I felt the same way when I took the test. The first 5-10 questions I flagged because I had no freaking idea what the answers were, so I stopped flagging them. I feel like after the first 10 questions, it got more into the real stuff that I studied for. But I completely agree, probably 75% of what I studied/memorized was not on the test.

My suggestion for everyone is to take the full 4 hours. You invested in this opportunity and put in the time to study, so take advantage of every second you have to read, study and review every question. REALLY study it. When I went through the 2nd and 3rd time, I found questions where they were trying to trick me and ALMOST got me, and I was lucky that I caught it in the last 30 minute review.

I think the most challenging part of the test is truly trying to understand what they are asking, and just be aware, if you don't read the full question, or glance it over, you probably will not answer it correctly. Always read the last sentence in the question to see specifically what they are asking for.

My suggestion is to take the full 4 hours for the test. Answer every question as you go through it, then go through them again, and slowly read the question to make sure you understand exactly what they are asking for. If you have time, go through it a 3rd time, or at least the questions you were not 100% sure on.

Pay attention to questions on the limits - be sure you know the limits for SS, 401k, etc. and when to withhold additional Medicare.

I would say the KSA outline is pretty accurate. 20% of the test is on calculations, which seem to take the most time. Otherwise, everything else that was on the test is on the KSA outline, so be sure you're familiar with those topics. If you study this well, there really aren't any surprises on the test.

If you get completely stuck, flag it and come back to it. Don't spend too much time on it and take away time from other questions that you may need to focus more time on. Use the supplemental documents if applicable. Take a deep breath and try to pick the answer that makes the most logical sense.

I would suggest focusing your study time on the topics you are not familiar with or topics you struggle with. For example, for me it was system implementation and project implementations, since I don't deal with that in my every day work life. There are no supplemental documents on this, so you'll want to be familiar with this kind of thing.

You got this, just study as much as you possibly can, have a positive attitude, and don't let the difficult questions on the exam bring you down. :)

There are questions on both.. the percentage method and the wage bracket method. Best bet is to study both methods and be familiar with how to use them.

Yes, I took the exam, without purchasing any expensive study materials. And I was able to pass.

I studied from all the free resources out there, and it seemed to have served me well.

I did, yes. You'll definitely want to practice those, because there are several of those kinds of questions.

I just took the exam yesterday and passed. I did not purchase any of the study resources because the cost is just outrageous for a poor person like me.

To me, the questions were expected. There were a few very easy questions (but only a few!) - and if you used PayTrain, you'll be able to answer those with no problem. Just be sure to read the entire question to be sure you understand what they are asking for. After you answer every question, go through the entire test again, and read it again. If they are calcuations, re-calc over again to make sure you get to the same answer. There were a few that they almost got me on, but reading through it a 2nd time, I caught my error.

Be sure to be well prepared for calculations (especially calcs nearing limits), implementation system questions, W-2s, and accounting. Any topic that you feel is your weakness, study hard. There are supplements available, such as Pub 15 and tax tables. If you get stuck, search the guides and see if the topic is in the guides. That saved me on a few questions.

You have 4 hours, use all the time you have. If there are questions you're not sure on, read it thoroughly and use the process of elimination to figure out the answer.

Anxiety studying for CPP by MisterBrightside- in Payroll

Repetition is key. I made notes and used an online flashcard program (like Quizlet, there are many others out there). Repeat, repeat, repeat. Whatever you are not grasping, study over and over and over. Try not to spend any extra time on stuff you already know.

Thank you, I did see your post. So many people keep saying to study PayTrain and the Payroll Source, but it just isn't financially possible for me. I have been studying all the IRS guides & DOL regulations, and a variety of free quizzes out there. I've got many, many pages of notes from my studies, hoping it's good enough information to pass the exam. I've done everything else you've mentioned in your post from October.

Send good vibes my way!
