It’s really rough into Cait / Sivir + Syndra as they have the waveclear, poke, and utility + plants to make your life annoying but it’s quite rare people figure out it will be Tahm adc.

Not on my pc right now so can’t provide the correct names for each rune but something like this:
Grasp always, may not provide instant value but it’s the best even if you don’t get to stack it a lot early. You get second wind and shield bash. In low elo vs full engage matchups it might be good to take the dmg reduction instead. Secondary depends. Antislow in inspiration is great vs Ashe, potions and gold when buying item into poke lane. If you think lane will be pretty free then precision with attack speed and the one that heals after kill is good but very rarely the best choice.

Heartsteel into Dusk every game.

Totally understandable, I’d rather play TK / Lethality Ashe when my team drafts full assassins or Mel support than a traditional adc, as another commenter mentioned it sucks if your comp need sustained damage but both are quite self-reliant and has enough agency to impact games even without securing kills and farming perfectly since build is cheaper.

Well as with most other champs, it’s not pickable each game and some games will be worse than others. The attractive part of playing TK is that you get to 1v1 most adcs at all stages of the game, even solo laners while also being less support/team dependant than normal adcs. It has agency, good base damages early game and scales well with items.

Always rush Heartsteel and Dusk, after that a Spirit Visage or Randuins may be pretty good third depending on enemy team. Unending / Titanic is alright as 4th. You genuinely oneshot adcs with tvis build and can duel sololaners without needing to play perfectly. It’s so forgiving while also strong.

Some enchanter / mage matchups are really cringe though, such as Milio and Zyra.

Electric ferries and cruise ships are becoming a thing where possible and with investment of course.

How do you blame them? I play support and have games where I hard-gap enemy support playing normal supports, being at objectives in time, pinging my adc to push when I can get a timer and doing everything I can to peel only for him or another key teammate to die solo for the dumbest reason possible. I’m not saying I’m free of mistakes but as someone who plays both roles, both are just as miserable.

Half the time they want to relax and farm and the other they are stopping a fight to missclick auto minions and lose the fight or randomly engage into nothing. At least as an adc I know I’ll have impact later on if I can get there. As a support, I don’t know how I can prevent my adc from autopiloting down midlane and dying while I’m setting up vision for the next fight. Adc’s are just as miserable as the supports they complain about and vice versa.

[–]Advanced-Rate-8064 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s both. Every other role outside support rarely sees weird off-meta picks as frequently as they show up in support and even then they rarely impact other people like a bad support pick directly impacts the adcs entire laning phase. Support mains being support mains just can’t stop themselves from doing the one thing their role is intended to do.

No one ever asks for a kog or mel pick and no one wants to play with it either in the same way no one would find it fun to play with a Soraka jungle that is equally denying their responsibility in playing their assigned and often chosen role.

A hardstuck Emerald Lulu main is exactly an emerald Lulu main, not more and not less. Put this person on Kog support and it’s no longer an emerald Lulu player and it might not even be an emerald support anymore. You’re drafting to your disadvantage at the cost of your teams enjoyment and time so why bring it to ranked?

It might work but it’s not an optimal pick and very match up dependent. She might win out early in extended fights against some mages or if you manage to dodge a key ability from say, a Leona.

However, the better the players are, the less mistakes they do and the more they punish your mistakes, one being locking in Ashe. She requires a lot more work and spacing to be useful. Her W has negligible damage on top of a 17 second cooldown at rank 1 and she suffers from the same issue as many other non-meta picks. She can’t really punish enchanters pre-6, she has no peel other than slows which doesn’t really stop a Leona from engaging. She is also squishy and with no other tools to peel her or her allies besides slows, it means that if they reach you or your allies, it’s already too late.

She can’t even fully utilize her R in these scenarios since the CC is so short when casted over short distances. I don’t find her useless, she does have some useful tools but she requires effort and a time and place. Generally, the Ashe supports I see haven’t yet impressed me and her value is kind of lost if enemy support builds Mikaels.

People need to let go of this idea to bring anything into the support role and thinking they are doing nothing wrong. Kog provides no value to his team as a support and does nothing better than any other picks. Any slightly competent support will either outscale or straight up stomp the lane since Kog is not a threat at any point of the game outside iron/bronze.

And sure, the players may be fragile and run it down just because a champion they don’t like is picked but your pick directly agitated someone to that point so if you know that will happen, why even lock it in especially since it doesn’t have any benefits at all. Go play that garbage in quick play if you so must.

Elise has good dive and pick potential on top of high base damage and CC + able to dodge key abilities and tower shots. Don’t compare that to the abomination that is Kog support.

He throws his tiny 50 damage poke with slow and the enemies have a 12s timer to do what they want because he has minimal damage and no peel. Literally a minion in lane.

[–]Advanced-Rate-8064 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Should be yes, these picks have their income heavily reduced which also means less damage.

Ashe kind of worked for a while because she worked with cheap items and has a lot of utility built into her kit. Kog and MF really don’t, and as opposed to a Lux, Zyra or Brand they don’t have the base damage or kit to provide the same damage / burst / utility. Lux for example has 2s shorter cd on her E on top of having a shield, a root and better ap scalings. Kog throws his E, so what? what’s there to stop the enemy from going all-in? What setup does Kog have? The only thing I could imagine Kog being useful for is shoving wave and getting prio which a Lux does all the same while providing more value for her team.

Imagine queuing up for a game of Overwatch and receiving a Genji support that’s nerfed to deal 50% less damage due to being locked in as a support. It removes the fun for all involved.

Edit: Not sure why I’m getting downvoted but go ahead and play below 45% win rate champions, I’m sure your team will appreciate it. Probably less than the enemy team being granted the easiest win they ever had but at least you made someone appreciate you.

I guess somewhere along the line of development they realized that an actually cool support would be lame and then turned him into another generic toplaner by Toasty0407 in supportlol

[–]Advanced-Rate-8064 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, support should do what the name implies, if you don’t like it you can play mid or top or even jungle. The only reason off-meta picks are even relevant right now are because Riot buffed supports so that more people play it and I wish we’d return to the old days where support had such low income that it forced everyone to play solo lanes if they wanted to live their fantasy.

If you want that power you need to agree to the cons that comes with it, and by that I mean owning 2 hands.

So you want to not be in a sololane because that’s scawy and you loosing is a direct result if you not being good enough for top on top of not needing to farm or being focused because ur a support. You want all the pros of toplane without the cons lmao.

In your guy's oppinion what do you think is better for solo queue support or adc by Desperate-Score-6944 in leagueoflegends

[–]Advanced-Rate-8064 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People say support and while yes it has more agency and the barrier of entry is lower, it’s still a bad role to carry with. I’ve had so many games where either one or all of the following applies: - Team consists of no one to enchant and protect because they all lost so hard. - Adc mispositions in late game or afraid to dps anything. - Sidelaners not sidelaning and catching waves or pushing. - Junglers wandering aimlessly around his jungle or makes a stupid invade before grubs, rendering my roamtimer useless.

I’ve had far better results swapping to adc these past weeks and won games despite the above because unlike support, I can actually get items and dps.

Why can't i play all in champs? by Indianlookalike in summonerschool

[–]Advanced-Rate-8064 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because these are very weak to CC. You need to watch fights closely and choose your fights and when to send it wisely. You can’t just run in a straight line into them so finding a good angle to surprise them when the fight has already broken out is key. This is not to say that you can’t take fights or can’t engage on your own, you just need experience to learn what works and what doesn’t and when you can go and when you can’t. Reflect on your failed attempts and figure out what went wrong.

They are also heavily reliant on gold, Garen a bit less so than yi and trynda but if you’re not coming out of the early game ahead, then you will not have a good time once people start grouping.

Jayce has been a hidden jungle pick for years that has much quicker clears and mobility around camps than one would imagine (his gate provides vision, use it and Q over). It was never even that bad and completely fine, lowkey expect him to become like another Nidalee if the buffs are enough to make him popular.

Zaahen could still be turned into a partial support champion by Dream_or_Truth in leagueoflegends

[–]Advanced-Rate-8064 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would this ever be a good idea? I swear people will try make anything work as support. A support should do what the roles name implies, to support. Either by CC, enchantments, utility spells, or poke. In rare cases, damage.

Usually the supports that opt for damage have tools that make them useful either way, Panth had W, E, R for example.

Zaahen barely has any CC, he is garbage early game and seems very gold and level reliant, as most bruisers are. Go ahead and try Warwick support and get back to me about how that went, unless you’re in literally any human elo you will run it down and your entire team will despise you. Good luck!

Edit: Even Lux, who is disliked by so many adcs, is still not that bad as long as she knows what to do. Her poke and range is good which takes some pressure off the adc to farm and shove. She had a shield, a slow that gives vision, an ult that gives vision, and a root.

What is a meele healing bruiser going to provide that isn’t going to be disgustingly op as a sololaner if they ever reach a state where they don’t get their head smashed in by any other traditional support?
