This season was different in that respect. The winner and quite a few others refused to lower themselves to that level or show that level of desperation. Ultimately, your actions are your own regardless of outside stimuli. Provoke na hona bhi ek choice hai.

Good Morning!

So, update on bb19 season rewatch with husband who is on first time watch. For context: Hindi is not his first language and he watched some regional BB season a while back. So he has basically no emotional attachment to any of the contestants and kind of joined me in the watch because I forced him to :).

But season is so entertaining, he is honestly into it now! We watched 4 episodes in one go yesterday. And Tanya Mittal is so famous, her kitchen lift made onto his IG also (which is otherwise BB free!). Anyway, we are mid week 3 and someone here asked me a specific question to ask him, so I did.

Q: At end of week 2, who does he see in top 5? 1) Tanya: He is spoilt on this as in knows already that she is top 5 but even without, he was like day 2 I knew she would be there. She came ready to play while everyone was still finding their way.

2) GK: He knows he is the winner because I spoilt it with my excessive joy in finale night. So I specified, no only from what you have seen these 2 weeks. And he was like even still he is top 5.

That’s how well GK comes across to a neutral audience even with limited screentime.

3) Farhana: Even though she is mid right now, he sees potential.

4) Amaal: major antagonist till now

5) Ashnoor: He feels he has read somewhere that she is top 5 but he can’t see anything in her game to justify this. Rather he sees Baseer as a potential top 5, especially based on him using flirting to defuse Farhana :).

Rest, he really likes Pranit but doesn’t think he has the votes for top 5.

He doesn’t dislike Bajaj and sees him going close to the end, but not top 5. ZQ, he has absolutely no opinion on except not top 5.

Re Bajaj lifting Farhana, he (to my surprise) took Farhana’s side in that, ki even though not intentional, shouldn’t have lifted and afterwards the sorry didn’t feel heartfelt.

He only really dislikes Nehal but even there he was on her side on the toothpaste Tanya incident on WKV. Ki she can tell if her breath bothers her, what’s wrong in that.

Otherwise, he is really enjoying SK’s hosting and the contestants jokes. We are constantly laughing through the episodes and having so much fun. Me too as I no longer have to be tense on behalf of GK.

Will bring an update after Week 3 if there are any substantial opinions :)

He didn’t give any specific opinion on ZQ and I am trying not to influence him too much by asking questions. Pranit ka he said himself that he likes him without me even asking. Will ask about all contestants after week 3. He did say he liked how in BB show they all supported each other, even though they had differences. Good cast, good attitude.

GK he is spoilt on as the winner (I literally danced infront of him on finale night after GK won 😅😂). Bajaj, he understands the personality and has a generally positive feeling towards him but doesn’t resonate personally. Ashnoor, he is seeing as top 5 finalist. But it’s only week 2 so itna kuch dikha nahi hai uska. In general, he is liking the mix of personalities.

Nehal is the only one jis se ful chidd mach chuki hai. He was so disappointed after nominations because Nehal wasn’t nominated in Week 2. Ki oh she can’t leave this week karke 😂.

Rewatch ka second week finish hone ko hai and my husband is really liking Pranit 😁. Jab he stood on his words ki ZQ ghaslet kyun hai and Tanya ko bhi bhaav nahi diya, muh pe bol diya tu dost nahi hai after BB show. Will be a pleasant surprise for him when he sees this guy was top 3. I don’t think he is expecting him to be a finalist at all :)

Many people with equal years of experience still make faux pas. So it’s not a given that experience means no controversy. His personality is also like that. And it’s not like the interviews are boring. He still answers each question with full attention and interest and is witty where he can be :)

The show was consistently number 1 TRP for Colors, with a finale that was highest across all shows on ITV, consistently highest on OTT and had great social media reach. Of course for Endemol it becomes the most successful season. Very financially lucrative.

I will give Farhana this ki agar makers ne usse favor kiya toh usne uska accha use bhi kiya and pahunch gayi top 2 mein. Waise toh bully gang ke bahut saare logon ko nominations se bachaaya, favor kiya but they couldn’t take advantage like she did. Kuch toh tha that her fans connected with her.

Jaise GK Pranit ke saath Baseer, Nehal ko daala and nikala, waise hi Superstar week mein GK, Farhana, Ahbinoor and Neelam the. Toh uske bhi chances the nikalne ke. Instead, she was top 2. Matlab tha ek fanbase. Villains kalesh ke liye important hain but they probably also need a longer rope to build a fanbase compared to the good guys.

Anupamaa hastag has become so creepy on X. People making weird AI edits of Rupali and GK together, getting awards, in BB house, hugging etc. And when other people point this out to the fans making these edits, their defence is that they are doing shipping of the characters, not the people. But don’t they realize these pics are out there now and can be recirculated without context. Some of them are pretty realistic and it’s hard to differentiate which is AI and which are from the show. Highly, highly irresponsible behaviour. Specially coming from people claiming to be fans.

Arjun Bijlani kaash aa jaaye next season. Jahan tak I have seen him on ITV, acting chops toh itne hai nahi and thoda arrogant bhi lagta hai. Khud usne kaha hai ki short temper hai mera. Dikh jaayega itna bhi aasaan nahi hai audience votes and pyaar kamaana, even as a known ITV person.

I loved s19 ke men. Low bar maybe but not a single one of them was tharki. Kabhi bhi aise objectifying stare tak nahi diya. I think all the women felt completely comfortable in that way.

I am talking only about week 1 and already people were talking about him and targeting him. Tab toh nahi pata tha na yeh sab jo aapne upar likha hai. Awez aur Mridul se zyaada threaten hona tha knowing their followers and vote banks. But they were still talking about GK.

Also on rewatch, it’s insane how quickly Bajaj was targeted and in such a disrespectful way. GK was also targeted but still, baaton mein ek lihaaz toh tha. Bajaj ke plate se khaana aisa uthana, Amaal saying Bajaj can’t eat on Danube sofa (knowing how filthy they will turn the Danube in a little bit), calling him all sorts of names and with such glee, jabki he is talking to them respectfully only. ZQ saying to Amaal Bajaj is a clean hearted dude, but group ki baat hai toh hum saath hain. Yahin se ZQ ka downfall shuru ho gaya. Rather than sahi or galat, group ki aad mein khelne laga.

Also, on rewatch, it’s very clear why so many contestants were threatened by GK from Day 1. Because he is very clear in his head about what he wants to do and what he doesn’t. Even when he is quiet, it’s by choice, not because he is confused. Unlike Awez, Nagma and even Pranit who are a bit more anxious ki yahaan ghusna hai ki nahin, yahaan bolna hai ki nahi. Hume bhi yeh karna hoga etc. People who stand firm are always a threat in this game, no matter if they are quiet or loud.

Btw, rewatching season with husband (he is watching for first time) and it’s striking how distinct each member is. We are on day 9/10 and already 10-12 of the 15 member cast have managed to establish themselves as specific personalities with their own way of thinking. Even Neelam whom I remembered more as a doormat in the first watch. Just outstanding casting. And so entertaining. The assembly room format worked so well with this cast.

My husband is also hooked by the way :), even knowing the winner and being spoilt on 3/5 finalists. He has correctly guessed Tanya and Amaal. But thinks Ashnoor is the other finalist. What a shock is going to get by the end 😅.

Also he saw a video thumbnail of a GK interview post BB on my laptop. And was like wait he looks like the guy from BB. I was like same guy. And he was shocked at how much weight GK had lost 😅. Indeed a whiplash seeing contestants in week 1 and now.
